How to service semi auto gearbox? Peugeot 3008

Unread post by Jimmy8157 »

Good evening

My Peugeot seems to be lacking a bit of power recently.

I changed a ball joint a short while ago and dropped a little oil when I (accidentally #-o ) pulled the driveshaft out.

I'd like to drop all the oil and refil but I can't seem to find a fill plug just a black plastic cap.

Does anyone know of this is the fill location and also the oil type and can't find anywhere the correct oil type for this "auto" gearbox

If anyone can help I'll love you forever

Bear in mind these boxes need to have the oil checked and topped up AFTER the system has been depressurised! You will need a diagnostic tool to do this, top up the oil the the level shown, then repressurise the system along with any other operations that may be required.

Pop your VIN up for the 3008 and I may have a diagram.

That's the actuator oil, Marc, which is separate to the gear oil, which is what will have run out when the shaft was pulled out. Just uses normal 75W80 gear oil in the gearbox part AFAIK.

Was a little confused over what he wanted re the "auto gearbox", but yes, gearbox oil is the same.
