Error message on c4 picasso app Faulty Engine Control System:
Faulty Engine Control System:
Avoid using your vehicle until it has been serviced by a Citroën dealership
Has anyone had this? There doesn't seem to be any engine performance issues.
Car is 2016 1.6 bluehdi.
Thanks

Re: Error message on c4 picasso app Faulty Engine Control System:
Unfortunately it's one of those cryptic messages that can mean anything related to the emissions system. It will need a proper dealer-level diagnostic to get an idea, but don't leave it too long as if it's SCR system-related it should be remedied sooner rather than later.

Citroen dealer can't see me until the 30th...hopefully its nothing too serious.
Could you tell me if this battery is definitely the one for my car please?

Halfords suggest it is but I wouldn't fully trust them.

Re: Error message on c4 picasso app Faulty Engine Control System:
You need an AGM battery with 70AH and 760A
So that Halfrauds one will be fine.

You can get better batteries for less though...look for a Yuassa one.

Re: Error message on c4 picasso app Faulty Engine Control System:
If I'm not mistaken the Halfrauds ones look identical to the Yuasso ones Richard, as I had a look at those earlier. The Yuassa equivalent of this (from the VIN) comes out at £252! That's when I noticed that the battery structure, colours and such look identical.
What do you think?

I read on a BMW forum, that the top of the range Halfords batteries, are indeed made and supplied by Yuasa and are to an identical spec.

Dealers confirmed the eolys fluid is low, that's the reason for the error. They've quoted me £315 to top it up again. Does this sound reasonable?GiveMeABreak wrote: 15 Aug 2022, 19:01 Unfortunately it's one of those cryptic messages that can mean anything related to the emissions system. Re: Error message on c4 picasso app Faulty Engine Control System:
Well it depends on the quantity of fluid they need. 3 Litres on the aftermarket is anywhere around £115 plus delivery, then there is the labour and of course the resetting of the additive counter. So that's about the rate.

Re: Error message on c4 picasso app Faulty Engine Control System:
That's a useful bit of info, and the Halfords price is looking pretty keen at the moment.
I doubt you will need 3 litres of fluid, I think these only have about 1200ml from the factory, good for nearly 100k miles, so unless you are going to put interstellar mileage on it, I'd just get a litre put in.

Re: Error message on c4 picasso app Faulty Engine Control System:
Thanks for the info chaps.
Went to another garage and they've quoted me £270 for the following:
1 litre of "PAF fluid" they called it supplied and fitted.
The labour for timing belt (and water pump), auxiliary belt kit - I'll be supplying the parts.
They reckon the PAF fluid is £30 a litre - does mine need to be certain specification??
Also is this a good brand of auxiliary belt kit? Hey, check out QUINTON HAZELL V-Ribbed Belt Set in the AUTODOC app https://m.autodoc.co.uk/quinton-hazell/13798788?

Re: Error message on c4 picasso app Faulty Engine Control System:
Would mine be a solid bottle for the eolys or is it the bag?
I found this ancillary belt kit, it's the same part number but in Peugeot packaging. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-C4-P ... 635-2958-0
Would this fit mine?
