Following yesterday's best ever result I was quite positive as I set about the dles today. A bullseye on the worldle was followed by a 2 on the wordle and 3,3 on the nerdles! Brilliant I thought bring on the heardles!!

Train crash!!!

Apart from recognising but not naming the 70s it was a complete wipeout!! Back to dunce's corner for me! :-D
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Original: Vague recognition but unable to name it. Disappointed.

Sixties: Two Seconds :)

Seventies: As with the Original.

Eighties: Not a clue

Nineties: Not a hope. I have this in my Amazon library as I bought it for my granddaughter a couple of years ago. Had a go but it is dreadful.

00s: Another fail, completely unknown and likely to stay that way.

For those who want to join the throng doing the heardles here's the links.

The Regulars
Original Heardle https://www.spotify.com/heardle/ .
60's heardle, https://www.60s.heardledecades.com/
70's heardle, https://www.70s.heardledecades.com/
80's heardle https://heardle80s.com/

Optional Bonuses
90's Heardle https://www.90s.heardledecades.com/
00's Heardle https://2000sheardle.glitch.me/

5 out of 6 missed out on the ungetable 00's, the rest fitted in with my intro knowledge in 1,2,3,5,5 in the usual order. Should have really got the 80's 1 stage earlier than I did. Knew the artist but chose the wrong track too quickly.

So, without looking it up - what's the bit of a sundial that sticks up and casts the shadow called ?
mickthemaverick wrote: 14 Aug 2022, 13:27 So I decided to do some measurements today a) to identify true South and b) to confirm the pitch of the roof.
I set up a very simple device to determine true south:

I've always known it as the staff but I was surprised to see the real name is a word I had come across in CAD systems at the Drawing Office in my BT days but never associated with sundials!! :-D

More normal day for me today:

Original. No idea
60s. 5 secs recognised instantly but needed the extra bit to bring the artist to mind
70s. 2 secs. A real classic
80s. 2 secs. Unforgettably grim!
90s. No idea
00s. No idea
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Original: Clueless
Sixties: Clueless II
Seventies: Five seconds. Surprised as I don't like it.
Eighties: Clueless III
Nineties: Clueless IV
00s: Got the singer as soon as she began, but not the song.

.
Original: Fail knew the tune would never have got the artists or title
Sixties: 8 seconds, had to sing it through for the title
Seventies: 2 seconds Mick's pal
Eighties: 2 seconds ditto above
Nineties: 2 seconds...I like the track and the vid, and feel like it has been on before
00s: 2 Seconds, I thought Steve might score on that one, know the band name and the guess bar gives you the options.
[/quote]

5 out of 6 and four 2 sec minimums :-D

Original: Fail. They only did one recognisable song!
Sixties: Fail. Knew the tune couldn't even guess at the artist when Russ Conway or Mrs Mills were not an option. The Roker Park crowd put the words "We are the S A, the S A F C" as a chant to part of the song.
Seventies: 8 seconds from the group getting more coverage than any other on the BBC recently.
Eighties: 2 seconds easily recognisable for anyone familiar with their work
Nineties: 2 seconds couldn't name any other offering of theirs but got it in 2 Secs
00s: Fail. No Chance

3 out of 6

The rest were a complete wipeout so back to the tapping board! :-D

Not the foggiest.
The girls may look good but the expression on the face of the bloke at 2' 30" sums up my view of dancing.

Had a friend who collected covers of "Green Onions". Last seen residing in Changi jail.
