Mobile 'phones

Post by myglaren »

There can't be anyone who isn't aware that using a phone (or several other gadgets) while driving is dangerous and a serious offence that can cost you your licence, or worse, much, much worse.
This happened not far from where I live.
Just flagged up, probably as I watch Ashley Neil's videos.

Grim, to say the least.

Strangely enough I just watched that an hour ago!

I can tell you I see plenty of HGVs on the M4 that are 'riding' on the back of the HGV in front without a care in the world and I often see them on their phones texting away.

I hope they watch this video too as it could be them next.

They should also be aware that people are sending in their dash cam footage now direct to the police for prosecution, so a warning here.

I was driving back from Swindon a few days ago, when a Jaguar iPace went by me. I glanced across, and the driver was texting with his phone in his left hand. I made bl00dy certain to put distance between myself and him.

I forgot to save it, but even if I had it would not have shown them using the phone.

Indeed it wouldn't have but together with your witness statement it would have given the police the simple task of DVLA ID followed by mobile phone company records showing when the phone was in use, married up with the times from your film would be sufficient evidence for them at least to text him the warning that he had been detected and not to do it again!! Or of course a name and shame job!! :-D

This is why I'm worried if GPS controlled speed limiters can do more harm than good. As most lorry's are restricted to 56mph, boredom sets in after a few hours....etc etc
