Anyone know how to remove RT6 and SD card?

Post by ChrisKe »

My SD card seems to be complaining and might be failing "keeps asking for navigation CD update"

Anyone know how to remove RT6 and SD card?

I released it with the removal pins but I can't see enough to release the big connector on the back. Any ideas?

There's no magic to this.

The RT6 is removed using the pins and gently levering forward until you can get behind to remove the quadlock and other connections. Tip: Always disconnect the battery following the BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure first to avoid complications. Secondly, always remove the Quadlock connection first and connect it last to avoid damaging the unit and or the Display Screen.

As for the RT6 card itself, all that is detailed in the first post on the RT6 forum in the replacement guide, so no point repeating it here.

My question is how do you remove the big connector? You can't see it. Is there a video anywhere?

All the right boxes are ticked. We have had problems with members Microsoft email addresses but not recently, also Gmail but that seemed to be fixed.

Look in your spam folder, sometimes they are erroneously classed as spam, too many and your email provider will cut them off.

I will send a PM, see if that comes through OK.

The quadlock connector generally uses a swing-over arm to lock it into place. Swinging it the opposite way release it.

This is a different car and different system, but if you watch from time index 2:10 you will see him remove his quadlock connector. It's the same / similar principle.
