Peugeot 2008 1.6 e-hdi Siemens Injectors

Post by shedman »

Hello, my wife has a 2008 1.6 e-hdi 115 2014, it has been smoking on acceleration since it was purchased last year, on renewal of the mot it failed on smoke from exhaust with particulate filter fitted plus the emissions are on the high side, a few things have been looked out without any change, today i checked the fuel injectors fitted they are all siemens 5024v05 9802448680 injectors using a six digit code printed on the top of the injector. when checked with diagbox for the installed injectors cylinder 1+2 were the same as printed on the injector top (6 digit) but cylinder 3 on the injector is BDNKKJ but the installed code is SXNKKJ-BDNKKJ. same with injector 4 9CGGGF but the installed code is 4WGGGF-9CGGGF can anybody shed any light on this or are they installed correctly.

The codes for the Siemens injectors on a Peugeot 2008 1.6 DV6C engine are 6 characters. So I would first record what you have showing in Diagbox on injector 3 and 4 and then recode them with 6 characters shown. Siemens only take 6.

Thanks Marc for the reply, this could explain the smokey exhaust, I will recode cylinders 3+4 and see how it goes.

It make take a little while after doing this for the engine ECU to adjust, so just go on a run afterwards and see how you go. Also, just to clarify, use the codes on the injector which I think you said were:

9CGGGF
and
BDNKKJ

Thanks Mark will do, yes they were the codes on the injectors which were also on the end of the installed codes after the hyphen.

Quick update on injector coding with diagbox, when recoding injectors 1+2 will code as 6 digits, injectors 3+4 will automatically be coded as 12 digits by diagbox you have no control over this.
But still the big issue of black smoke during acceleration,
running a graph for the MAF sensor air flow setting after increasing revs on the engine then back to idle the air flow setting is 198, measured air flow is 198 and richness calculated by oxygen sensor is 4000, after about 30 second the egr is noted to have closed and the air flow setting is still 198 but the actual air flow has increased to 400 and the oxygen sensor is reporting a richness of 8000.
Does any of you diesel wizards have any ideas on this as it is doing my head in.

I don't understand what you're saying about injectors 3 & 4. When I changed an injector on our Blue HDi Peugeot I only changed the code for that one injector. The other injector codes remained untouched and the same.

hello, this was explained at the start of the thread, smokey exhaust on acceleration lead to mot failure, first mot since the car was purchased, on checking injector coding in diagbox it was noted no 3 and 4 injectors had a 12 digit code no 1+2 injectors were coded correctly as per printed injector code 6 digit, diagbox will not allow injector 3+4 to be coded with a 6 digit code as per printed on injector, it puts up a message saying it will modify the code although the end part of the 12 digits ( last 6 ) are correct for each injector.
hope this clarifies

Does it state if the learning cycles have been completed? You may need to drive at a certain engine rev range for the new injectors to learn. There can be a few cycles needed of this. Normally the status of the injectors can be seen in Diagbox if you have a look in there for some parameter tests.

Yes diagbox stated this when no3+4 were recoded, this was done over a 40mile run, will have another look when I have it connected, the issue with smoke is still the big problem, even gone as far as remove exhaust and check with snake camera previous owner had not removed the dpf.
