No such rule exists. Have a look at the cabin of a Kia e-Niro or Hyundai Kona and you'll find more buttons than you can shake a stick at...Rp0thejester wrote: ↑29 Jun 2022, 19:22 Got close to a Polestar today, was going to take a photo of the dash but there was no point. Nothing there to photo, just like a Tesla. Is there a rule that electric cars can't have buttons to press in the front? What's next? No indicator stalk ((like BMWs/Audi's) never seen indicators on either) hand motion sensor instead? Swipe down for left/up for right.

Not been close to either of them yet, but got my eye on an electric Jaguar that occasionally arrives, wonder what that's like...

Re: Electric Vehicles: What have you spotted?
This is what is known as a Hyundai Kona Ultimate EV (May 2021)
Plenty other EV's to spot now of course, and on a trip from the sticks into civilisation seeing 10 different Teslas wouldn't be unusual.
A nice red Hyundai Kona got the click yesterday. I'm sure there is one of those awful motoring journo reviews to be found where a peek inside will be shown, and well as the usual barrage of cliches and unimaginative boring commentary. Put it this way any of the EV offerings these days are perfectly useable, competent cars infrastructure and range problems are overstated, but they are absolutely not cars for the masses yet.
Electrification starts at the well-heeled, moves to the affluent, and the company cars. That's not just company cars for those who actually need a "company car" for the purposes of doing "work miles" but a whole raft of salary sacrificers currently enjoying benefit-in-kind incentives to get a car through a financially beneficial company scheme.
Few manufactures want to see the price of an entry level EV dip under £20,000 bringing the rest of the scale down a notch or two. Eventually competition will reach this end of the market and someone will create a high volume lower margin A,B, or C segment EV, but while the demand exceeds current production, they can sell all they make in a cosy no one stepping out of line price structure.
Regards Neil

Re: Electric Vehicles: What have you spotted?
A hulking BMW
A Zoe, A Kia, and a Tesla. Sure there was one more but can't think what.
Edit: A Leaf, of course!
Plus lots of drivers on the phone, parking on pavements, double yellow lines, cycle lanes and blocking ambulances from getting through.
A large collection of nitwits.
Just one of many.

Re: Electric Vehicles: What have you spotted?
Not at all, just stating the current market situation as I see it.
Very happy with my excursion of 2.5 years and 25,000 miles into bargain basement electric with my second hand Leaf as reported in the thread bargain basement electric. No regrets at all about making the change. Would never be in the market for a new one, and would have made the move earlier but needed second hand prices to move to a level where my back of the cigarette packet calculations were really a shot to nothing.
Longish thread 30 pages now, kicked off here in November 2019. Have a read if you are interested.

Not a 'spotted' but talking about Yuasa on another thread I posted this just out of interest. It might fit better here.

Audi E-tron
The other three in the charging bay were petrol. Too idle to walk more than fifty feet.
Also a Tesla S and a little Peugeot thing. green flash on the reg plate but passed very quickly and no time to see model, 206-sized.

Not the first spot on the thread, but the first real-life original shutter clicks for today's spot. Time to give it a chance. Hyundai describe it thus,
I have no idea how to distinguish what a "crossover" is. Definitely not as brick-like as what I would call an SUV, and indeed it has a reasonably streamlined bonnet and overall shape. I dont find it half as unappealing in design as our two reports so far!The EV6 is a fully electric crossover from Kia. It marks a new era and sets new standards for years to come. Get inspired by its eye-catching and inspired design.
Let's get a decent fair review posted up. One of the few EV's that currently offer V2L, they all will shortly.

Well if the boot was lower it would look dodge/Chrysler Viper esc with that flick at the end. Apart from that it looks like a Chelsea tractor
