Central locking

Post by AnnetteG »

Hi Newbie here . I bought a ds5 3 weeks ago. The central locking works but every now and then it opens, then when i go to open the door it locks again and the mirrors come in. This week its different again it unlocks, the doors are still open but the mirrors fold in. It doesnt happen every time maybe once out of ten times, but its annoying. There doesnt seem to be a pattern to it. Ive changed the batteries in the remotes & i only open the doors now with the key fob. Just wondered if anyone on here can shed some light on what the problem may be? Many thanks in advance. Please be kind :D

Hi and welcome.

Try a BSI reset first of all:

Is it keyless?

If so then it locks when you touch between the two ridges on the outside of the handle, and unlocks when you touch inside the handle. But in reality you may find that the lock and/or unlock can fail per individual handle.

It shouldn't be causing that behaviour whether keyless or not - the mirrors only fold in or out as the vehicle is locked or unlocked. They should not fold in when the doors are open on their own.
