On previous vehicles with similar problems (C5 MK I for example) sometimes the door handle would lift up but feels like it is not engaged in the mechanism and so does nothing. It's just like when the vehicle is deadlocked (2 presses on the locking fob on most PSA cars - if fitted). Deadlocking detaches the handle from the locking mechanism to prevent opening of the doors from the inside or outside if the car is broken into to hamper access / egress.Huskyxantia wrote:Marc, the diagram of the door lock mechanism & handle for ,my 307sw a bit above ,would it be possible that the little lever on the handle or mechanism could possible be slightly miss shaped and causing the opening of the catch to not do as it should ? If a slight tweak to either part is possible do you think it would make the handle open the door as it should, i take it the levers on these parts are metal , would you know if they are ?
Sometimes, as you have discovered, a firm push on the outside can sometimes sort it. Mine only did this a few times, so never had a recurring issue with it. I can't tell you what the parts are made of unfortunately.
