Back in May 2016, paid a Visit to Altlantic Motorhomes at Colwyn Bay. If you have watched the wheeler dealers episode on the Citroen H Van they featured supplying Mike Brewer with a few parts, maybe manufacturing an adapter plate too. Thinking again they may have supplied them with a Ford 2 Litre engine too.

My photos from that time probably got lost in an external harddrive kaputage but I did post at least one on the FCF :-D

Not an HVan although there is one behind the Peugeot, but they had plenty under restoration.

Introduced myself to the owner Alan, and I enjoyed a good chat about the restorations and conversions in progress.

Gibbo2286 wrote: 29 Jun 2018, 19:28 I recall as kids we were taken to a place called Towyn, near Rhyl for a weeks holiday where we stayed in a bungalow alongside a railway line, it ran parallel to the sea wall.
We went out the front door across the line and over the sea wall into the sea, I think the next place along the line was Abergele, we walked to there along the sea wall.
If you did that Gibbo Towyn and Abergele are slap bang in todays County of the Day Denbighshire as is Colwyn Bay. Rhyl just along to the east is in Flintshire as was Prestatyn...venue for "Holiday on the Buses" of course :-D

Denbighshire does have th highest pub in Wales and its on the market with a price tag of £600,000 as of March 2022.

Highest pub in Wales goes up for sale
The Sportsmans Arms (Tafarn yr Heliwr) lies on the Denbigh Moors and is now on the market for £600,000

Weather is going to be pretty severe up there, maybe but maybe not in the way you think in June 2018 the road had to be closed up to the Sportsman Arms because it was melting :-D

Denbighshire only a little while left in the spotlight. If you are going to make a contribution get it in.

The EVO triangle has been mentioned at least 10 times on the FCF, a set of roads in Denbighshire made famous for test driving cars for EVO magazine and in general regarded as great driving roads.

This is about it

I am going to sign off with a bit of Fun, and an iconic Wright Bros. Bus. Wrights provided one of the iconic routes from Newcastle to Keswick for many years.

Collected my last C5 from Buxton.

The county name always makes me think of the 'Jennings' books.

“The squaw on the hippo? In his mind's eye, Darbishire pictured the wife of a red indian chief, resplendent in feathered head-dress, riding proudly on the tribal hippopotamus.
But how could she be equal to the squaws on the other two sides of the animal? equal in weight? . . . In height? . . . in importance? He stared at the diagram wondering whether it was meant to represent a three sided hippopotamus, but it wasn't easy to imagine what such an animal would look like in real life,
Determined to please Mr Wilkins, he tried again. perhaps the theorem meant she was equal in weight. Supposing you had a very fat squaw, weighing, say, fifteen stone; and two thinner squaws weighing, say, eight stone and seven stone respectively . . . What then?
the scholar's eyes shone with inspiration. He'd got it! seven and eight made fifteen! So the squaw on one side of the hipppotamus would be equal in weight to the sum of the squaws on the other two sides. That meant that the animal would be properly balanced and wouldn't topple over.”

Yes, that was one of my first associations too Steve even though AB's Darbishire had the different spelling. Quite likely some derivative to Derbyshire in the thinking of the Author, the passage on the "square on the hypotenuse" illustrates that he liked a bit of word-play. :-D
