No Breweries in Nairnshire but for Pub of the Day, the bar at the Bandstand in Nairn has a decent set of credentials.
Our Bandstand Bar won CAMRA HIGHLAND PUB OF THE YEAR 3 times and DISTRICT PUB OF THE YEAR a staggering 9 times! We have an ever-changing range of real ales, we're Cask Marque accredited and in The Good Beer Guide. And every year, we host the Highland's largest independent beer festival...

One particular fact which may trigger a contribution from bobins is described in Wiki:

There was a Post Office repeater station on the outskirts of the village which was one of only two in the Highland area classed as being of "key importance to national defence" and a "most important link in the A.D.G.B. It is incorrectly described as a radio station in the document and also now marked incorrectly as an "old telephone exchange". It is believed that it was a link from the RAF Sector Operations Centre at Raigmore

Sorry for the delay - been busy

Bit before my time for that PR station, but it does seem a bit odd in that it's only a PR station...... and there's lots of them about with lots of interesting phone/comms lines going through them. Must be more to that story.... or not 8-[

Can't think of anything to add for Nairnshire though :(
Sadly no longer a C5 owner :(

I think this is/was in Nairnshire, but it's a bit close. Behind the large Bacardicorp distillery at Brackla is the old wartime RAF Brackla airfield. It didn't have any great claim to fame, but I have come across a old aerial photograph of the site from 1946-ish showing a whole load of Halifax and Warwick bombers awaiting scrapping.

I was hoping for a bit more Nairn tossing the caber action, but each year Nairn holds its Highland Games and Fair and its a big event in the town. A flavour...

Talking about Brackla, in the pink (of our map) and in Nairnshire, has a distillery, and more than that it was the first to be given a Royal Warrant by William IV in 1833.

If everyone is happy Nairnshire has had a good airing and far better than I expected for a One town County.
Thanks for all the contributions.

I will move this post if there is more to add on Nairnshire but I'm done for the day so I will carry out the random selection and announce Monday's new County.

________Nairnshire Done____________

An easy start. If you know nothing about one of our historic Counties head for wiki and dig out the local vehicle registration area codes which are for Armagh, (I have corrected my previous incorrect spelling!).

IB, LZ, and XZ

Suitable picture to follow!
