I should have got that because I did note it when I was doing the Gary Sobers/Malcolm Nash thing. Noting that Malcolm had been born in Monmouthshire and we hadn't covered it.

That gentleman is Malcolm Nash :-D

Riversimple Beta test Begins in Abergavenny
My own views about hydrogen have changed since I first came across Riversimple, still based in Llandrindod Wells and their development of their Hydrogen Car the RASA. They do seem to be on a very slow path to production, but appear to be very good grant getters and crowdfunders.

The Abergavenny link is that it has a hydrogen refuelling station, and beta testing is being based there with a few members of the public.

Looking around the bridges of Monmouthshire I came across this picture of a disused railway bridge in Usk which led me to discover Usk itself and it's beautiful clock tower:

Click on the photo for a link to Robert Knight's Gallery where he gives some interesting info on this unusual car.
It is Leyland-Crompton Electricar (Prototype) (1972) with a "WO" Monmouthshire Reg. XWO 300 J

I think I have at some stage but I'll give it another watch. I still get an e-mail from time to time of Riversimple updates and update the Hydrogen thread on lastest developments. I do think they are barking up the wrong tree now, and taking absolutely ages to move to any sort of scale of production and still doing low volume beta testing.

I've selected the Monmouthshire Pub of the Day. It appeared as No2 on a Wales Online list
The best pubs in Wales in 2022: 50 places you owe it to yourself to drink in this year
Bit of checking and its over the Wales side of the Wye, at Redbrook which is mostly in Gibbo County.

i just picked the first one out, but looks like Monmouthshire has quite a few others making the list so for the record

6. The Queen's Head Chepstow
12. Ye Olde Murenger House Newport
15. The Skirrid Mountain Inn - Llanvihangel Crucorney, Monmouthshire
33. The Crown - Pantygelli, Monmouthshire
44. The Fountain Inn - Trellech, Monmouthshire
50. The Black Bear - Usk, Monmouthshire

The list isn't ranked by excellence reflected in the number, just a list.

Looking around for Monmouthshire music I discovered that one of the greatest tracks of all time was recorded in Monmouthshire to quote Mr Caine (alias Peter Sellers) "Not a lot of people know that" :-D

So a video with the story and a performance of part of the music by Monmouthshire choirs:

An excellent find Mick, one of the best in our Musical sections on Today's County in the spotlight, and yes well done to the often maligned "the One Show", for coming up with the interesting story, made more interesting of course by our deliberations on this very thread. :-D
