As I am still waiting for the Workmate transfers I turned my attention to the garage in which I wanted to get the final clear up done. Another lot I collected from last week's auction was the three sets of storage drawers you can see at the back. They allowed me at last to tidy up all my small bits and pieces from micro switches to velcro etc and make the whole place much more usable. With the drop down bench on the left raised and the removable vice installed I now have a reasonable space for ongoing DIY projects!! :-D

The stickers arrived today so I was able to finish the workmate project, fit the feet and stickers and the job was done! Well chuffed for a total outlay of £23.45 :-D

I've got one of those, can I send it for a service? :)
I bought this one for my dad many years ago, when he died it had a label tied on saying "This is Eric's ."

While tidying out the garage the other day I unearthed the cheapie dash cam I bought last year so yesterday I installed it in the Subaru to replace the broken one and this is one 26th of the footage I got. I did not set the date and time before I tried it out but I have now! :)

It has taught me three lessons: 1) It records sound so unless you want to hear Talksport in the background I'd recommend muting while you play it. I have now set the camera not to record sound when driving, only when in standby motion detect mode. 2) Not to line up the camera while parked behind another car due to the foreshortening of the images. 3) To clean the windscreen in front of the camera!! :-D

All in all not bad for a £7 camera!!

No you're right there Gibbo, that lane is one of my favourite traffic avoiding routes but the penalty can be cyclists, horses or the occasional tractor. Overall I reckon I get 17 clear runs in every 20 and at least the various obstructions are moving which I find far preferable to the stop start journey 3 out of 5 times using the A1!! :-D

Today's job is a simple (ish) repair of our bath side panel. Somehow SWMBO had managed to break off the corner of the panel while cleaning the bath??? So I am faced with a new panel set or repairing the damage - no brainer! :-D

This is what it looks like before repairing:

Having looked at it closely I decided to go for one of my standard plastic repair methods which has been very successful on motorcycle fairing and car bumper repairs.

That involves making a mould and then filling from the inside to produce the new corner. So basically I have made a false corner using gorilla tape with cellophane on the inside where I can now lay in the plastic and see how it goes:

I shall post up the results later after the setting time. :-D

Lovely job. It will work out as a useful, adjustable worktable.

I'm assuming that was a new camera for you. What are you like now when your behind a cyclist now? Blue words I'd imagine 😉

It is two part, powder and solvent and they provide some moulding compound in the kit which can be softened for moulding and then sets solid for you to apply the resin. It is not cheap but if you follow the instructions it does a terrific job. I have repaired many fairing cracks, birds drinking bowls and garden pond leaks. Here is the link:

As for the cyclists, they don't bother me as long as they move over once there is room to pass, which in those lanes they usually do! :-D
