Some Excellent Cricket played at St Helens cricket ground in Swansea over the years, Glamorgan defeating the Australian toutists twice in the 60's, but this is probably the most famous "over" of all, at the ground.

I think we can indulge ourselves in the joy of listening to Gary Sobers chat about it with Malcolm Nash the bowler,
It's lovely story telling, particularly from one of the brilliant legends of the game!

My last trip to Glamorgan was to collect the Suzuki Celerio for SWMBO. I had searched the country for a few weeks before finding the exact specification and colour she had set her heart on: :-D

Back to the Glamorgan flag, and the Prifysgol Caerdydd...and 2006.

Here is the Coat of Arms of the Uni in Black and white with the three chevrons!

..an exceedingly brief account of a visit to Glamorgan Mick. I am sure you could embellish the bare bones of the trip with a little detail, it is Glamorgan's one and only 24 hours in the spotlight on the thread. Yes we may guess the car was from Cardiff and it was just straightforward get the train, do the business, drive the car home and back before tea, but then again you may have smelt the flowers on the task and the journey.

I'm curious...as ever :-D

Embellishment coming up!!:
The alarm went off at 5.30am ............................... :-D

Seriously, on the Tuesday (7th May 2019) I had found the car listed on Ebay and arranged to take SWMBO to view it and test drive on the Wednesday 8th.

We drove down in my C5 and stopped for lunch at the first services after the bridge. We then carried on to Bridgend where the dealer was. As we arrived SWMBO saw the car on the forecourt and it was love at first sight!! After the usual sales chat we took the car out for the test drive, I drove first to check it out mechanically and when I was satisfied we swapped seats so SWMBO could be sure that to her it felt as good as it looked!!

Needless to say she was delighted and immediately agreed to buy it. I then began the haggling with the salesman but in truth he knew how rare and desirable this spec was with less than 4000 miles and he was not willing to discount the price at all. Unfortunately he had detected the over-enthusiasm she had displayed and I was on a hiding to nothing re the price. However I was not happy just to roll up and pay the sticker price and drive it away so we settled on them doing the first service, actually not due, for us on the next day so I could go and collect it on the Friday as SWMBO was not keen on taking a strange car on the motorway for her first drive.

Thus we left a cash deposit of £300 which I got back when I arrived on Friday and paid the full price by transfer. We then headed back home after arranging to meet Bob and his wife for dinner in a Reading pub on our way home. On the Friday I simply took the train to Bridgend, arriving mid-morning, where I was met by the salesman. He drove me to the dealership where the car was pristinely waiting in front of the showroom. We went inside and sorted out the paperwork and then I left and, after filling up just before the M4, headed non stop back to Hertford. I stopped at the local car wash down the road and had the motorway grime removed before running it up the hill to be greeted by a highly delighted SWMBO!! I pocketed the brownie points and went down the pub for dinner!! :-D

One of Wales' finest cars was made at Bargoed Glamorgan. They still crop up for auction from time to time

Yes bang on topic for Glamorgan's day in the spotlight. I remember a film with Hayley Mills in is set in Tiger bay, bit of drama about the 3 mile limit and a boat and Hayley either falling or jumping in the water to be rescued by the "fugitive" sacrificing his getting away by rescuing Hayley.

Here's a bit of Glamorgan's J-Forty action from Goodwood...delightful! They all used to have plates JOY1 JOY2 etc out of the factory but these have all sorts of plates on.

Sorry Gibbo, while I generally like Shirley I happen to think that she destroys that song!! For me it is one of those songs where the message it contains is personal but not to her!! For me I'd much rather have her doing this sort of thing:

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

She showed her sense of humour when she was heavily pregnant and sang this one.
