Mystery wiring connector

Post by Tonyl »

Hi all,

I have a non start 1.4 hdi C2 and have found a mystery electrical connector hanging down the back of the engine. It’s a blue plug with 3 wires - green, yellow, green/yellow. It can reach from about the filter on the left side across to the right side but I cannot find anywhere empty to put it. Wire codes are smudged but the yellow can just make out 01 LE 0551 (I think!) and perhaps 40BA or 408A along its length. It originates from loom just before the large circular plug that also has the injector wiring just by the fuel filter left side. Has anyone any ideas?

Those wire codes dont come up as a valid number but it looks like it may be the water in fuel sensor wiring (which your vehicle may not have). On models without it is often plugged into a dummy connector on the filter itself.

Thanks for that and could make sense - I will check tomorrow when daylight. I did check the filter as on my C4 1.6 hdi there are multiple connections to the filter but on this C2 just the one - already occupied. Number wiring is a challenge - I stripped the cover right off and that’s about the best I could make out on just one of the three wires. Photos below if it’s of any help.

Actually another point to ask - the car seems to have had the injectors changed but only one has markings. As it’s a non-starter (turns over but no fire) is it necessary to code these in and if yes - how to do when not marked?

Confirmed 403A is the water in diesel connector, it probably clips to the underside of the filter.

As for the injectors, This looks like the 8v 1.4 HDi if i remember right its only the 16v version (with Delphi injection system) that the injectors need coded.

Thanks again, brilliant help. Strange but now you’ve pointed out 403A it obviously is - no idea why I saw 408 or 40B. Clearly new glasses needed!
