Re: Central locking error? Car locking randomly

Unread post by Jb1981 »

So my C3 Picasso 2013 HDI locks itself every time I shut the passenger door and sometimes when I shut the drivers door. Doesn’t matter wether the car is running or not / key in ignition. Nothing obvious that I can see or find. I’ve looked at some previous threads here so worth noting; it’s the same whether it’s raining or not. It has the original stereo system. Starts and runs fine. Locks/ unlocks/ deadlocks fine on the fobs.

Any ideas please?

Have you tried a BSI reset yet?

Have you checked the wires in the passengers door loom, they are known to be a cause of various issues in the drivers door loom.
I would inspect them very carefully and see if any are frayed.
Assuming it has the "auto locking function when the car is travelling" then i really think it is a wiring issue.
Yes do a BSI reset so you know every thing is as it should be but double check and then check again :)

** Edit **
Just re read your post.
Does it lock itself from the outside or from the inside or both ?
Only reason i am asking is that the auto locking function is a slightly different wiring loom but connects to all the door locks so do all doors lock the same way, yes you will need to be in the car to see if they lock outside but not inside if that makes sense .
Bit of a ramble but what seems like an odd situation being a Citroen (and i have had many and still have 2 ) can be investigated cheaply :)
