I'll have a look for the cars in the morning as I am using the phone at the moment and I find searching is a pain with a small screen! :-D
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

I think Leonard Rossiter must be the link, he appeared in Reggie Perrin for the BBC and at the same time Rising Damp on ITV. The link with Nottingham could be that in his early professional acting career he was with the Nottingham Repertory Company.

You've done it again! - Come up with a different plausible answer to the one on the card :-D
One of those sitcoms is on my card but nothing to do with Leonard Rossiter and I'd say my link to Our county is much stronger!!

Yes its Richard Beckinsale with his roles in Porridge and Rising Damp, and being a Nottinghamshire Lad himself. :-D

Yep spot on well done, I read all about him as a result of this and discovered how tragic his death was. A real shame because many top stars had thought he'd make it to being an international star but it wasn't to be. With the Newark crossing earlier Nottinghamshire has turned up some amazing things! :-D

I did and despite not being active I do lurk and read select bits of the forum from time to time ;)

I do in fact have a new bike of some vintage interest. I've ridden it but not collected it yet...

I don't know who made it just yet but it rides nicely... I do need to put some proper 'bars on it though...

Well that post makes starting the thread worthwhile! Keep lurking and great to see those pictures of you clearly enjoying yourself. I fairly often dig out relevant info from the FCF archives because there is an absolute wealth of gems of information and contributions which have been made over the years which deserve a re-airing from time to time. You may get quoted again!

All the best Jim

and here's one of my "Gems" which got the Citrojim seal of approval, which firmly puts it into the gem category in my book. Also bang on topic for today, and a rightful place on Nottinghamshire's day in the spotlight.

You can read about the Raleigh story on wiki, or Grace's Guide but there's moving pictures too if there is nothing on the telly. I like Graces guide, straight to the point, and often some nice old images and links to associated companies.

Nottingham's other long established universally known name associated with the town started off Boots Pure Drug Company. Not named after a street like Raleigh but with beginnings in "The British and American Botanic Establishment" set up by John Boot at 6 Goose Gate Nottingham in 1849, and carried on by his family who later traded under the name M & J Boot Herbalists ( Mary and Jesse Boot, John's Wife and Son)

Graces Guide follows the story through with links to subsequent companies resulting in the well known Boots brand.

On the Nottinghamshire Live website this is a bold list
The 20 best things that Nottingham has given the world

Havent looked down the list yet, but the Raleigh Bicycle and Boots the chemist will be there, and maybe Nottingham Lace and Robin Hood. But at number 20 comes "The Flying Bedstead" my trivia sensor was activated, here's the pic, but what is it about :?:
