I'll ponder that one but with the odd clue if we are stuck it will be worked out. Then again we may have to have an early dive into clues if its as obscure as my Anton Stephens, translating through Der Kaiser's middle name and the TV Series Bewitched to arrive at the car in Joni's Coyote Vid. :-D

We have had an outage today up North on the FCF, late morning-ish, as I was posting my first contribution to Fermanagh's day in the spotlight.

Fermanagh's most well know artist and band, Neil Hanlon and his band the Devine Comedy (born Derry but moved to Fermanagh when 12, and the band was formed in Inneskillen.)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_Hannon

He's done a fair bit of other stuff apart from "National Express", Father Ted Theme Tune and "My Lovely Horse" for 2.

Regards Neil

Yes I think the outage was universal. I texted Steve and he had it too so I'm guessing that it was a server issue since resolved!! There is a typical FCF spooky in that the link you provided for Neil Hanlon contains a related clue to my challenge!! :-D

You haven't gone high brow and related the link to the works of Dante :-D

In attempting the Mick poser, I came across the Lyrics to the song "Sunrise" by the Divine Comedy

The lyrics just seemed to make sense to me. In them he mentions both the "English" and Irish names of the towns he grew up in Enniskillen/Inis Ceathlain being where he lived from the age of 12.

mickthemaverick wrote: 31 May 2022, 17:05 A challenge for the brave - can you link Banksy with Fermanagh with factual links? :-D
er No, not without a little help. Can't weave a link between the Devine Comedy and Banksy

We are talking about the artist banksy...not gordon banks or Mr Banks in Mary Poppins :-D

A real banksy was painted over in the Stephen Merchant series Outlaws, but no link with that and neil hannon/Divine Comedy or Fermanagh.

Oscar Wilde went to the same school as Neil Hannon, but no link with Banksy. Edit: Nonsense of course there is Neil see your latest post! viewtopic.php?p=718972#p718972 )

Appreciate a clue :-D Think I got it!

Oh yes there is!!! you're halfway there! It sure is the artist and actually its a particularly notorious piece of artwork at that end of the chain!! :-D

************************************************************************************************************

I had written the above when you posted again. Now you have all the pieces necessary to make the connection so you have succeeded but by a slightly different route. I hadn't realised Wilde was imprisoned in Reading Gaol but he did write a poem about it which is where I made the link! :-D

So for final clarity my chain was:

Banksy - escapee on Reading Gaol wall - The Ballad of Reading Gaol - Oscar Wilde - Portora Royal School - Eniskillin - Fermanagh

Neil's equally correct chain:

Banksy - escapee on Reading Gaol wall - Inmates of Reading Gaol - Oscar Wilde - Portora Royal School - Eniskillin - Fermanagh

Hope that makes it clearer! :-D

I loved that, a brilliant inspiration by its creator, as good as Banksy's in the first place. I do enjoy Bob Ross in his own right, possibly the most calming voice on TV!! :-D

Fermanagh's Lough Erne has a bit of a seaplane tradition.

Rather than wordy articles...need some moving pictures. From time to time they have a Seaplane Festival.

Meanwhile here's a couple of wordy links.

Not exactly moving pictures, but a video of photographs from the 2011 Seaplane Festival on Lough Erne

Nice exit from the water

Here are some moving pictures of action on Lough Erne but no seaplanes I'm afraid although there are some interesting spellings in the subtitles!! :-D
