C4 grand Picasso battery
How can I check what battery my car should have from the factory. It’s a c4 grand Picasso 2016 1.6 diesel. The start stop has stopped working and if I switch the radio on with the engine off it goes off in about 2 mins and when I go to start it, it comes up on the screen charging modules. Just with these happening it’s leading me to believe it’s the battery please correct me if I’m wrong. I do have a smart battery charger I could try if it’s worth a go.
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance

Re: C4 grand Picasso battery
If you vehicle battery is 5 years old or over, it's probably due for a change. Charging it up won't help if it's losing charge pretty quickly - this is because the battery's capacity to hold a charge is diminished over time. So although you can charge it up, you are only charging a portion of the battery's original capacity.
This will impact on the energy saving mode (cutting in more quickly) and means the electronic systems may also start to become affected if they aren't getting the power they need.
With all the electric systems on the C4 Picasso and other modern cars, there is a lot to sustain.
On another matter of the touch screen. It is common for the modules to load once the ignition / vehicle engine is started. The various modules start to load up and can take a few moments - especially if you have switched the ignition off and then on again. This is not a fault.

Re: C4 grand Picasso battery
It's not 'coding' as such, but there is a Battery Charge Status Unit on the vehicle that monitors the condition of the main battery's heath, temperature etc., and advises the BSI when to put the car into energy management mode.
This unit will already have had the relevant parameters configured, such as the battery type and level (as in Citroen's levels - L1, L2, L3 etc.) the levels equate to the capacity and output, so I would advise on replacing with the recommended capacity. Pop your VIN up if you want to know the correct capacity for your vehicle.

Re: C4 grand Picasso battery
You want a 096 AGM type battery, I would recommend a Yuasa YBX9096.
Whatever battery you choose needs to be AGM & at least 760 CCA.
PS your vehicle has an outstanding (non safety) quality update needed, contact your Citroen dealer about this.

No, it can be a variety of issues from electrical, mechanical or software related. Book it in and advise them of your VIN. It won't cost you anything.

I suppose that is a plus if they do I have been hearing a funny noise like a tensioner whirring when going slow but relevant to engine sound. It says the fault is the timing belt degrades blocking the vacuum pump so both are replaced on the recall.

Re: C4 grand Picasso battery
This RAC topic might help you decide if you want to pay the higher price of an AGM battery. Note that by fitting a different battery to the one already installed might mean a diagnostic could be needed to tell the car, you would need to check with a dealer about this.
