Some think the sign should still read

There are a couple of AA Village signs in their original locations in Westmorland

First up Great Ormside, just a few miles from Appleby

The sign is on the side of a farm building. Not too many facilities in the village, but nearby is a nice ford and waterfall.

and another one at Nateby just a couple of miles out of Kirby Stephen on the Pub Wall just opposite the garage

Grasmere in the historic County of Westmorland, "the loveliest spot that man hath ever found." according to Wordsworth. That was of course before the arrival of the motor-car.

A few years ago neither I nor SWMBO fancied cooking the Xmas dinner so we went to stay in Wiltshire and were able to attend midnight mass just across the river. It won't take much to work out where we were but at least these are originals!!

Possibly the most photographed place in the UK, everybody will recognise this fairly striking image of this place in Wiltshire:

The first one is part of the stage set for a Spinal Tap concert, and the second one is Avebury ?
