Its a translation thing.

The Welsh "Trowch l'r Dde" translated is "turn right", and the English "turn left"

Music from Flintshire

Kelly Lee Owens is from Rhuddlan, Flintshire, location of the bridge where Olive and Arthur lost their cases in Holiday on the Buses.

She operates in a genre which I suspect is out of the comfort zone of many, contemporary electronic. Wiki lists her genres as Techno, dream pop, electronic.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelly_Lee_Owens

She was commissioned to provide the Music for the Womens Football Word Cup in 2023 in Australia and New Zealand.

This is the theme music titled Unity.

Last orders for Flintshire, less than an hour before the spotlight moves on.

The Flintshire bridge is not the only one of interest in Flintshire...

Put in a few million and you can have one of these

Silent film...

First mention of Flintshire in Cary's is Holywell, where the River Dee was crossed from Parkgate on the Wirral on the route between Liverpool and Holyhead. Towards the end of the 18th century Parkgate was popular as a seaside resort with bathers, but this diminished as the sands of the estuary were consumed with grass. Sailing from Parkgate across the estuary to Bagillt was still possible in 1864.

Had a look to see what there was of interest at Holywell, and found this...yes you are perfectly entitled to pop into one of the tents get your cozzie on and have a dip in the well.

Afore we go, here's another bit of intrigue springing from Cary's.

The Hostelries mentioned in Cary's for Mold were The Black Lion and the Griffin. I like to look up whether they are still in existence. I thought there are many Red Lions, but how many Black Lions are there?

The one in Mold, played some part in a bit of deception.
from Dec 2005
MOLD'S key role in a wartime espionage plot will be revealed next week. Former local schoolboy Kevin Broadfoot, who is now a St Albans-based barrister, has pieced together the true story behind the plot of the espionage thriller The Man Who Never Was.
Read on for "The Black Lion Hotel's" role...

Regards Neil

PS and what of the Black Lion Today....still standing but a shadow of its former self and somehow town planners have seen fit to put in a modern shopfront for the Halifax Building Society.

Yes, I think I clipped a little bit off Cromartyshire, but it still got its day-ish :-D I would prefer if we could get others to join in, so if no one has done the selection by the time you are ready thanks Mick. It adds just a little more surprise and randomness.
But will anyone take up the challenge and take precisely 2 seconds to click this link, put 1 to 46 in the relevant boxes then press generate. Look up the number and launch us into a new county :-D

go on 999 points if anyone dares!

5,6, and 16 have gone....if they turn up...roll again :-D
