407 Hdi 2.7 Suspension ECU

Post by 407 »

Since I've had the car, Diag has reported the following codes re Electronically managed suspension

Diag does say "Important, ECU present on vehicle but configuration absent "

Codes are

U1113 absence of communications with the ESP (with the engine speed of 342329 rpm and vehicle speed of 1320 Kph)
C1185 Headlamp height adjuster (with a engine speed of 176048 rpm and speed of Kph)
U2000 Main triggering
C1193 Thermal engine status not valid
C1191 vehicle speed information not valid
C1192 Longitudinal acceleration not valid
U1108 Absence of communications with engine management ECU

I've pulled it out to clean the connectors but wonder if a donor ECU might be the go.

A few questions

a) do the above point to some other faults - the car runs well otherwise, no MIl , no other faults - eg what exactly does configuration absent mean

b) there are a few suspension ECU's that have the same part numbers but say V10 and not V2 (which is my unit) - see pic - any issues

c) do I need to reprogram anything to fit a donor V10 suspension ECU ?

regards

I'd ignore most of those. You'll find that the suspension ECU can throw a wobbly when a diagnostic is being run on it and the car is not moving. It is common the C5 X7 (although some different codes) and are probably the ghost fault equivalents on your V6.

I know the coupe had AMVAR, and I thing yours does also. So the struts will have damper actuators on the top of each to provide one of 9 damper settings. You should also have a height sensor on each wheel (be careful not to remove those, as it will require setting the heights which is a pain.

Unless there is any specific reason, I would leave well alone. Some of the suspension ECU features may not be used and this could be why you are getting a configuration issue in Planet / Diagbox.

The part numbers are the same, but there are likely differences in software versions and possibly hardware internally.

One thing I do suggest if you are even considering replacing it, is to copy all the configuration of the old one first before removing it, so you can configure the parameters correctly on the replacement.
