New DAB stereo problem.

Hi all,

I have just tried to install a DAB radio Grundig GX-42DAB BT USB AUX RDS DAB+ in a Citroen C4 l 1.6 2005

I have used an adapter from original socket to DIN1

I tried to connect the yellow wire to the red to get 12V, the result was that the 20A fuse blew in the dashboard fusebox.

The radio won´t light up.

Now im stucked, should i run 12V+ directly from the batteri to the radio through the yellow wire in the connector?

Or what could be my best option?

There should already be a battery live at the original plug, you will need to identify the wire this is on & make sure it connects to pin A4 on your radio. There is no true ignition live on the original radio plug though. you will have to run a separate ignition live to pin A7 of your new radio. You have a few choices for this, either the cigarette lighter socket, the glove box lamp or using a piggy back fuse from an ignition controlled live on the BSI fusebox.
As for pin A5 on your radio, i would snip & insulate this wire so it is not connected to he cars original wiring as this may cause electrical issues.

I will check for 12V and make sure that it connects to A4

I think i would use the ignition live, from the glove box lamp, and insulate A5.
