Hi Gary

I know that most people replace the internal SD card with a 16 Gb version due to later map capacity. But looking at your files, these seem perfect to me in terms of structure.

But if it won't install the OS then there may be something else going on. If you have the original micro SD with the user data files on, keep hold of this as it will have the vehicle configuration options contained on it that you will need if replacing the unit. Some sellers of used RT6 units can use this to code you vehicle VIN and user option in before they send it out, so it should be plug and play.

I'll give a different SD card a shot and let you know if anything improves.

Hi to all,

Suddenly my RT6 RNEG2 showed a blank screen, then it ejected my audio cd and it keeps trying to read a cd disk. Tried rebooting the by pressing eject button for 15'' but nothing changes.

I replaced old 8GB SD card with new 32GB. I also managed to copy old SD data (from 3 partitions) just in case. What i can't find is the software and steps to reinstall the software/firmware on the SD card.

Can somebody please point me to the right direction or if he has the software (can you provide it) so i can avoid the 1600€ the dealership told me the new unit will cost?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi

We really need to know what version of firmware you originally had on the unit as this is important. If you try to update to the latest version (V2.86) from certain lower versions, it may reset the unit to default values that needs dealer intervention. I see you were wise to make a copy of the partitions, but you really need Mira scripts to extract the user data file from the old unit first, then you can use the programme to write it back afterwards.

Do you know the current firmware version you are on? If not then you may have to take a chance on the latest version and hope you can copy only the user data file back.

Hi Paris, ok so if you currently have V2.75, then it should be possible to go to V2.86 without a problem as you already have a major version of the firmware.

I have V2.86 as a file, but it is highly recommended that a new dealer copy on CD be used. They are about €17 from the dealer, and this ensures you have no issues. I do have the 2.86 ISO that you can make a CD with if needed - let me know.

Evening, a great thread - the kind of thing the internet can be great for and props to Marc / GiveMeABreak for helping many, and giving me some hope (yes I know it is the hope that bites you).

RXH, 2012. Had similar problem to a few, one day it stopped booting - would see the Peugeot logo flash and hear the CD spin a couple of times. This would repeat every few minutes. Frustratingly I only came across this thread recently and some time has passed, there seemed to be less activity on the RT6 of late.

I've tried the USB / mira steps today. The only USB port I am aware of is in the centre console, which I assume is connected as I used to play MP3s from there. Unfortunately I don't see the "When prompted, it will ask to execute the script,". The screen remained unlit.

I was trying a few things and the screen did light up, but remained blank.

I guess this means I won't be able to obtain anything from the old SD. So wonder if worth trying to use a version older than 2.86.

Any thoughts appreciated.

New SD card has arrived. Would anyone have a link to an older firmware version, maybe 2.7.7 ?
To try before I go the dealer route.

Without knowing the version the system had already, there no way to know which version is the least likely to require further intervention. Do you know the original version prior to removing the old SD card?

Are you sure your display is not faulty? Does it display any text when the vehicle is started up?
Can you still here audio from the radio?
Are there any messages on the display or graphics when you switch functions (NAV, Radio, SETUP Menu) etc?
