"Quite remarkable!"

Antrim's day is going to spill over into "2 May 2022", and this first day cover of the "Landscape Pictoral Issue Stamps" from the General Post Office is dated "2 May 1966" on the postmark. Quite remarkable!.

and looking back in my stamp album in amongst the wonderful artwork and colours of the page you will find my Antrim stamp.

Maybe even more remarkable is the FCF spooky in that post!! Considering 2nd May 22 I noticed that in the photo of the album the Antrim stamp location is Page 2 Row 2 Stamp 2 or 222!! :-D

In 2009 we had a day trip to Northern Ireland from Stranraer, first time visitors, on the early bird ferry and coming back in the evening.

Wanted to see the Giants Causeway, and a drive down the Antrim Coast, so didnt spend any time in Belfast but drove up to Portrush and on to the Giants Causeway and down the coast back to Belfast for the ferry back.

Taking the second picture to be a pair of football shorts, I would suggest the connection is Brendan Rodgers, who was born in Carnlough where the harbour picture is? :-D
And now having seen the edit including the Watford and Liverpool kits, it definitely is our Brendan! Just needs Chelsea and Leicester kits for the full set!! :-D

That's not the Liverpool kit Mick, it was Watford's Away Kit in the 2008/09 Season for part of which Brendan Rodgers was in charge at Vicarage Road! You did well to get it before I corrected the pic! :-D

You'll get this Mick...but we have included a bit of one of your favourite sports in a few other Counties so it would be a shame to leave Antrim without the answer to this question...

Who finished first in this race and where was it :?:
finishers in order behind ??????

As the field includes Theodore Racing team that would have been in 1982 or 83 can't remember exactly, in which case the Irish born man at the top was probably John Watson in the McLaren. He only had four or five wins and I can only remember Silverstone and Longbeach so I'll plump for one of those? :-D

John Watson it was, born in Belfast Co Antrim, and the venue was Longbeach California 27th March 1983. Won it from 22 place on the Grid.

If you'll bear with me I've been watching a crap interviewer, interview John Watson the racing driver on youtube, but John in spite of that gave some interesting info about his early days in Northern Ireland. He mentioned the Dundrod racing circuit in Antrim right on his doorstep, and in the 1950's it was host to the RAC Tourist Trophy. Quite a who's who of racing drivers in the top 12 for that race in 1955....

John went to the race as a 9 year old in 1955, "in the pits and the paddock, saw the stars of the day, saw all the great teams of the day, and it was just a magical moment which really reinforced a 9 year old's dream of being a driver."

Go on fill your boots. Here's the Antrim Circuit in its pomp!

What's better than a stodgy table of results.
Moving pictures of course...and beautifully narrated in period clipped English.
