I cannot source parts for my Relay van

Post by bnd »

I am having serious problems sourcing brake parts for my 2004 Citroën relay 2.2 hdi

I am trying to replace the two very rust eaten front disc back plates / dust protectors. Some descriptions are dust covers / stone guards.
They are basically a round piece of pressed metal in a disc shape that bolt to the stub axel and protect the discs from getting wet when
Driving through heavy rain and prevent the ingression of stones etc from the road getting caught between the disc and brake caliber.

I can source the back plates for the rear brakes but not the front. My local Citroën authorised dealer has shown me the microfiche and the online computer photos on his system and they do not appear there ?. The strange thing is they show these parts for the mark three relay. Unfortunately the mark three ones do not fit the mark two I have.

Please get in touch if you know anyone that has old stock of these or even a good set of used ones. All the breakers I have contacted say that any they have are like mine, rusted and holed.

Thanks to all in advance.

I'd only add that these may not be intended for the fronts given the design and dynamics of the steering wheels and space / safety as these could interfere with pipes and wiring. The later relay have these based on the specific design for that vehicle, so I would not attempt to fit when not designed for your vehicle....

Got it sorted myself eventually. Go to costal motor homes and search for part numbers 51114 and 51128 in the search box at the top of the screen. These disc covers are sided therefore the to separate part numbers.
Readily available and plenty in stock.

Hope this helps anyone else with this problem
