We are just after a little advice. We have a 2014 C4 Picasso Grand E-HDI Airdream VTR which has nearly done 30k miles. We've had it since Jan 2018.
We noticed the engine seemed to rev too high when accelerating and if you back off on the accelerator and go through the gears gently it seemed OK. Anyway it was in the garage this Monday having the rear brake pads done and we asked the garage to take a look. They ran the diagnostics and told us the clutch is slipping and needs replacing. Then when we went to collect we were told the flywheel needs replacing as well.
What we are concerned about is it seems that considering the mileage and age of the car is it reasonable to think that it would need this doing?
Has anyone else's had this problem or is it a common problem for this model. Thanks in advance for any advice.
i had EXACTLY same issue with same model (2014 1.6 eHDI ~Airdream)

mine was on about 38k miles, in fith gear and above the engine would rev like you mention, i had it checked out & was told it was the clutch slipping! ...like you, i was shocked as its only done low mileage, but i had just bought the car used so ait all depends how hard/badly is was driven by previous owner(s) :(

As for the flywheel, i was told this was fine (usually the fly wheel gets replaced with a new clutch under normal ware & tare which is usually around 80-100k miles!) so only a new clutch was fit (under warranty from place i bought from).

What i did notice is at first i only noticed this happen in 6th gear, but over time it was beginning to do the same in 5th gear & i was then told, the longer i leave it the more it will begin to slip in lower gears.

Touch wood, since i had it done (about 5k miles ago) its been ok! ...its just the looooooong list of other issues I've had with mine! it think the model we have was the transition from the old style to new style C4 GP... which makes me wonder that our 2014 models were used a bit of a Guinea pig so to speak! ...hope you have better luck though

You'd have to check with main clutch suppliers, but I personally would not recommend a conversion due to the torsional stress that I'm not convinced can be eliminated by a conversion.

Valeo did some kits for specific engines, but not all.

I appreciate it's a pain and these are costly, but if you don't ride the clutch, avoid towing and are gentle on the acceleration, the DMF can last significantly longer, and having a DMF will ensure your other transmission components are properly protected as designed.

It's a personal choice of course, some people are happy with their specific vehicle conversions others are not, like increased having vibration and noise - which is not a good thing.

Also, if you are towing a braked trailer of any sort, try to manually back it up (if the brakes cannot be overridden). Reversing with a trailer when its' brakes engage really does not help the DMF at all!
