And in the New Years Random OTCL Awards the random spotlight fell on Page 169 (May 2021). To be fair this was the only original image on the page, although there was an interesting piece on the Hillman Zimp....yes that isn't a misprint and a nice Lancia-esque rarity it was, details here, viewtopic.php?p=685320#p685320

1141 cc according to the DVLA, and currently just popping out for and occasional MOT and then back home to it's garage. Lovely looking little car. It has a "sports body" on it. I'll have to have a dig around to see what it is. Austin other is the only description on the available records on line.

Amusing coincidence this afternoon when I took the MX3 for a puncture repair and fill up. I arrived at a 3 exit mini roundabout to find a Nissan 100NX and a Toyota Celica GT arriving at the same time on the other two roads. So coincidence number 1, - 3 main Japanese makers sports coupes all registered in the 90's.number 2,- All three cars being driven by pensioners, number 3 They were all bright red!! Just wish I'd had the camera!! :-D
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Meterological spring week and my first classic spot of the season and what a bobby dazzler.

Nostalgia in spades, at the time the most revolting colour you could buy one in and most thought of them as a rapidly growing uncool, slow, agricultural with a cart spring or two, and the hot hatch was on its way. Now...it doesnt seem to matter, it stands out in the carpark, even for its 2022 relative diminuitivity. It is a gorgeous shape and a gorgeous front and rear. There's shiny chrome and a subtly matching hood. 1500 it says on the bonnet, and its the most interesting car in most carparks.

I wonder what it was...

Pure chance encounter, turn a different corner and would have missed the chat.

Yes the unmistakable shape and stance of a Rover 2000 (Auto) being faffed about electrics-wise in the passenger compartment by someone who had only bought it a month or so ago.

Always liked them but never so far taken the plunge, so admired him taking it on, and enjoying it as a hobby with a little bit of improvement needed to a sound enough car, but not intending to bring it into concours condition, just to use it as driving for pleasure.

He intends to repaint it Lunar Grey. Its a almond at the minute.

Not often you see a MK II Ford Escort. Striking in yellow.

Coleford town was heaving with classic cars and their enthusiasts today but I didn't have my camera, loaned it to my friend for her granddaughter's wedding.
Busiest I've ever seen it in all the time it's been running, lots of American stuff this year as well as the usual Brit stuff but the one that caught my eye was a South African built Austin Apache, a booted Austin 1300

On Saturday I spotted two Triumph Toledos and then, on the way back from Cheltenham, a DeLorean!

A pair of ordinaries, and an allegro in the background, mini just in the doorway, but never knew this outfit existed up in North Northumberland. Cheviot Classics Belford.

At one time these were new. But looking across "the rest" in the carpark, this quite anonymous product of earlier times caught my eye, and stood out. I think its in very good condition. Never get really moved by silver cars but it probably suits it.

That Consul was a nice car to drive but a real pain to work on. :(
