Re: Citroen C3 RH drive shaft part number
The guide I put up is specifically for your vehicle C3 A51 DV6FD.Nego2403 wrote: 12 Apr 2022, 13:44 I'm not sure which of these is the right one. Other than this, is the repair manual in general for the DV6FD engine or is it specifically for the C3?

Re: Citroen C3 RH drive shaft part number
Odd...
Searching on the VIN you gave brings up the parts Marc posted. However, if I just search on the engine, then there are a few options that come up, and a couple of them have no intermediate bearing, as you are seeing, e.g.
Can you double check the VIN? It seems unlikely that a mistake would turn up a car so close, but you never know!

Re: Citroen C3 RH drive shaft part number
The VIN is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]. This diagram looks more correct. The right side driveshaft looks like it has a larger diameter (the part going into the gearbox). A millimeter or so of the driveshaft was sticking out of the gearbox seal and it looked to be a bearing. The inner diameter of the seal on the right side looks to be a bit larger than the one on the left side but I'm not sure about this.RichardW wrote: 14 Apr 2022, 22:18 Odd...

There's no bearing on my driveshaft and it was pretty hard pulling out. So I bet I must have pulled the bearing off the driveshaft due to the retaining bracket (#12 on the diagram).

Re: Citroen C3 RH drive shaft part number
Is the part number still the same?

Re: Citroen C3 RH drive shaft part number
Looks like an error in the parts database then, it does happen sometimes at the change over of parts. There are 2 variants of this arrangement listed, I'll see if I can figure out which is which is later. There's still the eccentric bolts listed, and the plate behind the bearing, which suggests you still need to back off the bolts before the shaft will come out. Perhaps Marc can find the later procedure and post it....?

That would be very nice! Thanks for the help of both of you. Re: Citroen C3 RH drive shaft part number
The same driveshaft bearing is shown on every DV6DTED, DV6ATED4, DV6ETED, DV6FE, DF6FD engine on the parts database and seems to be for vehicles with the BE4R Gearbox, as even the EB2DT petrol with BE4R gearbox is shown with this bearing.
From what I can see the gearbox type factors in with BE4R having these but not the MA gearboxes and you have a BE4R gearbox on your C3 A51 with this engine.
Looking at it again, I can't see the parts database being wrong for all these vehicles since 2014 as it is updated each night. The bearing is sold separately, and seems to be included in the guide I already put in the resources section:
C3 A51 DV6FD Driveshaft Replacement
If you've bought an aftermarket kit, it probably won't be included.
Item (12) is part 324432, £28.94 from Citroen.

Re: Citroen C3 RH drive shaft part number
If the driveshaft you removed has the inner CV joint right next to the gearbox, then there is obviously nowhere to fit an intermediate bearing, and you need the other type of driveshaft.

Re: Citroen C3 RH drive shaft part number
That is the case. The outer part of the driveshaft going into the gearbox is maybe 10 cm long from the CV joint so I was also very confused by the manual stating that there is a intermediate bearing.xantia_v6 wrote: 15 Apr 2022, 11:38 If the driveshaft you removed has the inner CV joint right next to the gearbox, then there is obviously nowhere to fit an intermediate bearing, and you need the other type of driveshaft.
