Diagnostic tool C4 Picasso [suspension]

Post by nicolla »

Hello there, as a subject sounds.
I'm looking for the diagnostic tool which CAN CONTROL SUSPENSION actuators

So, my car lost communication between suspension ecu and compressor and it doesn't work.
If we pump it with Lexia it stays like that no matter what.
Actuator tests through diagnostics works, compressor pumps the car etc.

Anzway, I'm looking for an affordable diagnostic tool that can control the actuators in suspension department.
So far I know that Lexia can control it, as well as LAUNCH diagnostics
But it's still pretty expensive, I'm looking for something affordable and 'pocket' smaller version so I can keep it in my car just in case

Can you suggest something?

You won't get that level of tool on the cheap. You'll need a proper interface an the software that can work with specific constructor systems. Most of those care expensive and require additional software upgrades depending on the manufacturer.

At least a VCI with Lexia / Diagbox will help you with most PSA vehicles.

What I would suggest is to find out what exactly the fault is, and get it fixed. It may be something simple (like a dirty/poor connection) or more complicated, but leaving it alone is unlikely to get any better.

Next time you run a diagnostics session it could be helpful to post up the error codes. Then the Moderators can help point you in the right direction.

I actually know the codes,

P0603
P1613

Its losing the connection between ECU and compressor I'd say, and its losing the memory. Actuators work, at least compressor and depressurization.

I thought about going to springs since I'm already getting tired of the car needing so much love & financial support every week 🤣

But I still love the car

Anyway, mechanic's guess is that BSM is making some troubles. Last week we were repairing the headlight washers so I can pass the yearly test/control (like you have the MOT there) and we noticed that F4 fuse is causing some problems, so we connected the headlight washers to turn on when I wash my rear windshield

P0603 is a non-characterised fault and the second one P1613 means that the system has been incorrectly configured or that the configuration is incorrect.

Assuming you have got the correct parameters are you making sure to save them before coming out of the session? It is a very easy thing to forget (and, sometimes, difficult to implement). I remember the first time I tried to set up the Cruise Control stalk on my first C5, and it didn't work (and was not showing up to be tested). Then, after reading the instructions again (they are on this Forum) I found that, although I had changed the relevant parameter from 'Absent' to 'Present' I had not saved the changes. Once I did the Cruise Control worked properly.

Yeah, I tried configuration/savin both with Lexia and Launch diagnostic multiple times, it forgets the car model, suspension presence, directional light presence and one more, i cant remember what and that 0603 error is there all the time. I know its probably some broken wire somewhere. We can activate compressor via diagnostic but it doesnt work on its own, so I guess there is no communication between the bsm, sensors and compressor.

Buttons for pump/lowering in the trunk havent been working since 2019 so my first thing to check needs to be the wires in the back probably, but I thought it was easier to remove everything and go to springs. The car pumped good ~€2000 out of my pocket in the last year. It just comes up with some new things to repair. But as I mentioned I still love it. I even tried looking for other car, but no car gives me that feeling in the cabin.

Anyway, thay fault with suspension happened suddenly after I replaced winter 17" tires with 18" summer (literally later that day) so I dont know if I should check anything specificaly because of that.

I went to Greece and back with an error, the car just stays leveled apl the tome no matter what, but I'm scared what will happen if it decides to go down somewhere 🤝😆
