Don't need to go to Banff to see boar's heads, they re-introduced wild boar to our Forest and the damned things are everywhere, digging up the roadside verges eating the flowers in the cemeteries and ploughing the gardens of anyone careless enough to leave a gate open.
Population grew from a couple of hundred to over two thousand in no time, now they are culling them every year.
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.

I thought there would be a connection between the Canadian resort Town of Banff, within Banff National Park, and here it is via George Stephen president of the Canadian Pacific Railway recalling his birthplace near Banff in Scotland.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banff,_Alberta

Banff was first settled in the 1880s, after the transcontinental railway was built through the Bow Valley. In 1883, three Canadian Pacific Railway workers stumbled upon a series of natural hot springs on the side of Sulphur Mountain. In 1885, Canada established a federal reserve of 26 km2 (10 sq mi) around the Cave and Basin hot springs, and began promoting the area as an international resort and spa as a way to support the new railway.[6] In 1887, the reserve area was increased to 673 km2 (260 sq mi) and named "Rocky Mountain Park". This was the beginning of Canada's National Park system.

The area was named Banff in 1884 by George Stephen, president of the Canadian Pacific Railway, recalling his birthplace near Banff, Scotland. The Canadian Pacific built a series of grand hotels along the rail line and advertised the Banff Springs Hotel as an international tourist resort.

The most famous of the Dufftown Brands would be Glenfiddich, but Mortlach was the first

Banff only gets 24 hours in the spotlight so I'll indulge myself with one of those deep-voiced voice overs, over-the-toppingly adding a bit of drama in a "probably the best lager in the world sort of way", over some nice cinematic images, with dramatic music building to a crescendo, and then...the tag line...yes a bit of an advert.

...to be enjoyed...

Time for the final fling.

Yes sometimes tricky to find stuff about an area you don’t have first hand experience of.

It’s very very close to Davie country, and somewhat ill defined, but MacDuff is just over the water from Banff.

Who built the bridge, bring the thread a picture of it, and which other bridge in the Scottish Borders was built by the Same bloke. very similar Design

Banff Bridge was built by John Smeaton, often known as the father of civil engineering. He also built Aberdeen Bridge and Perth bridge as well as various lesser bridges and canals.

The other one by Smeaton may appear when Berwickshire hits the random number jackpot.

Mile from the Leaf's 50,000 mile point.

To bring the curtain down on Banff, one of those iconic Canadian Pacific Posters for the Dufftown boy who went to Canada to build railways and named the town after his "home County".
