Citroen C5 X7 Aftermarket radio

Post by GLITCHD »

Hi i am thinking of buying a Citroen C5 X7 and was wondering if there is a good solution for an aftermarket radio.
It has this radio:

Should i replace the lower or upper part of the radio? I am thinking that is should work with a radio like this:

I really hope that it should be possible as i love using adroid auto and hydractive system.

Thanks for any help!

Hi - I've been round this loop a million times (with the same radio as you - though I have bluetooth - do you?).

I've ended up buying this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/CORAL-VISION-W ... C57&sr=1-2

It's an aftermarket wireless CarPlay/Android auto adaptor. It works brilliantly (so far - I've had it 3 months), though I use CarPlay not Android Auto - so I can't comment on that.

The reason I abandoned the aftermarket route is that the headunit also controls settings on that central display such as the clock and no one could tell me if the front and rear parking sensors including parking space measurement would continue to work.

What Oli says is correct. The Head Units are very integrated into the vehicle and depending on the system can cause issues or loss of functionality, so be very careful what you decide to do.
