Fuel return/feed hose/pipe c3 1.4hdi 2011

Post by essa »

Hey, my neice's c3 1.4 hdi 2011 injector fork broke I manged to replace the fork, copper washer and bolt but I manged to break the fuel return feed pipe with the white tab that connects to the fuel filiter housing the actually plastic part of the fuel filiter housing that goes in the the return/ feed pipes as snapped in the pipe but the white clips on the pipe is broken itself so im not sure weather I need to replace the the one return pipe or full harness or just yhe fuel filiter housing and hope the pipe conne ts without the white tab like its being doing.

I tried to glue the pipe back on and start the car, it did start but shut after like with in 30 sec. Tried starting it again but wouldn't start, I dosnt see the any smoke or hiss sound comming from the injecter so thats all fixed. Would this cuase the car not to start if there a leak or air as got into to it?

I see the there's white tabs and green tabs on the fule feed pipes what are they and what the difference?

Il try and and some photos.

Out of curiosity would fule leak when I try to start the car with the fue pipe feed disconnected but with plastic bit that snapped off from fule filiter housing attached to it?.

Thankyou kind regards

Essa

I think the piece you have snapped off is part of the filter, these filters come in the black plastic housing complete, have a look online, your only probable issue is removing the broken bit.

Thanks for the reply, yeah that's what it is, for sure I need to replace the fuel filiter housing, but I was concerned about the white clip connector missing, don't know if it will lock when I remove the broken plastic piece and re attach it to the new fuel filiter housing.

I guess I could remove the broken piece and insert it back to see if it locks in, if it doesnt do i I need to replace all the pipes or I buy single pipe? Aka harness?

Do you think the car not starting is because of the damge done and is because if air?

I had, on the brake servo pipe, a missing latch as well. I got an identical connector from the local scrapyard, carefully cut away the bulk of the plastic (so the latch remained intact), dropped the latch into a bowl of hot water for ten minutes (to soften it up, otherwise it is too inflexible), and then was able to fit it into the connector. The brake servo pipe now latches at both ends.
