The Lane Departure Warning (LDW) function on my (July) 2015 2.0 hdi Exclusive EAT6 Grand Picasso died around 6 months ago. At the time, the car battery was approaching 7 years old, and I did not worry unduly then.
I have now replaced the battery with the recommended AGM096, from Halfords, and the Stop-Start has been reborn, but the LDW has stayed dead.
The side cameras work (360 view is fine), and the seat belt vibrator function works perfectly on reaching6-10mph, and, as I remember (not had reason to jam on brakes recently) the seat belt tighten function still works on heavy braking or vehicle ahead too close (imminent crash).
The LDW, I believe, is controlled by a camera in the windscreen. How can I check that? Or anything else pertinent to this fault?
All advice most gratefully received.

It may be possible there is a fault with the camera itself, so any safety-related functions can be deactivated as a result. Without a diagnostic though it will be difficult to say for sure. These need specialist attention for calibration. They can also go wrong if the windscreen has been replaced and a camera calibration has not been undertaken.
A dealer will be able to advise whether it's hardware, electrical or a software issue.

Thanks for your helpful comments, Marc. The only system not working currently is the LDW, so the big question is... is the LDW camera system only responsible for LDW?

Diagnostics do cost in the region of £90, but they can do advanced checks on the system that you may not find with your own diagnostic device and remember, that basic OBDII readers will not pick up any constructor-specific faults codes - which in this case the LDWS will be.
If you pop your VIN up (automasked on post submission) I can see which system you have, as there are 2 types, depending on build date.

Ok, so first check the obvious - has the system been switched off from the Driver Assistance menu on the touchscreen? (press the icon of the Car on the touchscreen) and check on the list of functions that it has not been deactivated from there. Later systems tend to have the system automatically re-enabled the next time the ignition is started, but on earlier systems, I believe it was possible to deactivate it, as on your system the state of the LDWS is memorised and retained after the ignition is switched off according to the data I have on this.

OK... With Ignition on LDW shows green. After Starting engine the green indicator goes OFF. At around 20mph an orange EXCLAMATION mark shows in the LDW indicator. This disappears after about 5-10 seconds.
NO LDW.
If I try to reactivate the LDW, the exclamation reappears and disappears after 5-10 seconds. NO LDW
I have read elsewhere that failed seatbelt actuators (no agitation on start off from parked or sudden stop / impending accident) will inhibit LDW, but my seatbelts work as they are supposed to , except for no LDW actuation.
My windscreen was replaced at around 2000 miles, and LDW worked fine from that point until about 3 / 4 months ago, which I thought might have had something to do with the battery no longer being such a happy bunny at almost 7 years old (it stopped the STOP/START working about 18 months ago).
Any ideas?

Any and All of the above Will can cause the issue. If the lamp on the button flashes momentarily then goes out, there is a fault with the system and unfortunately it needs specialist diagnostics to troubleshoot, so either leave it non-functioning or take the plunge at the dealer.

did you found out what is the problem... Same problem with mine... but i have manual... it stop to work when i plug in seat belt... al system works but LDW is not working with exclamation mark... i thing it is problem with calibration of replaced widnshield but not sure, and dont want to throw 100€ to make recalibration for nothing...

@tpint10: If you have a windscreen camera, then it's a common requirement that a calibration may need to be done if the windscreen is replaced. The slightest variation in positioning is enough to throw it off. A garage or workshop with suitable ADAS equipment should be able to do this for you. In fact most windscreen companies in this country insist on it being done by their own technicians, because of safety concerns if the systems fail. So they have an obligation to do it correctly if replacing the windshield.
In my own case after a windscreen replacement, the centre where they do the calibration was too far away, so I agreed that I would get it done at my local dealership and re-charge the insurance company for the work.
This is the same for vehicles fitted with ARTIV radar in the front bumper - a slight knock can cause it to malfunction and this requires road testing with diagnostic kit to calibrate it again.

Old topics, but I have same problem. C4 Picasso MK2. LDWS works great, have green icon above, but as soon I plug seat belt, orange exclamation mark show, and LDWS turn it self off.

1. B1004 96 ECU internal fault
2. U1F00 00 Fault event not stored in the fault log
I assume problem is faulty one of pretensioner sensors (motor working great when he pretension my belt when I pass 10km/h, or in sudden stops, fasten my belt hard) or wiring or plug. That is why giving ECU internal fault.
