Hello everyone!
My first post after lurking about for some time. Glad i found this forum as it has helped me alot.
Im wondering if the parts 5277N7 and 5277N5 are interchangeable? The rear stiffness regulator. N5 seems to be for the C6.
Im having problems with the rear suspension on my C5 X7 2.7hdi 2008. The rear will sink to the ground when car is switched off. Comes back up with a bang (sometimes) when starting engine and waiting for a bit. Also on the road while driving the rear suddenly sinks or jumps. Im suspecting the rear stiffness regulator as described in these threads:

HI
The parts for the C6s do have different part numbers to the C5 X7. Bear in mind that most C6 vehicles (certainly the V6 engines which were the most popular) have AMVAR active suspension with active damping, the struts are already different, plus they have different height sensors. The rear hydraulic blocks have different part numbers and none of these is the same as those on the X7. Normally where parts are identical, they have the same part number. So there must be some differences in the units, whether internal or external I can't say. So if you are thinking of replacing it, get one from an X7.

Thank you Marc for the quick reply.
I managed to remove the solenoid and I think I found what is making my rear suspension act up. The slide is not moving freely all the time. If I twist the slide while it's in the solenoid, it can get a little bit stuck.
Going to give it a rub with some fine grit sandpaper and see if it frees up. Does anyone know if it's possible to buy only the solenoid with slide as part?
I also removed the spool and noticed a bit of rust. Adding some pics for documentation.

The dreaded rust!
Just make sure you have it independently supported whilst working on sensors or the hydraulics as the car can crash down without warning whether powered or not.
The blocks have been a source of problem for both X7 and C6 owners with erratic suspension, so hopefully you can fix it with a good clean up - Citroen of course do not supply any internal parts for the hydraulic blocks or the BHI unfortuntaley.

Success! I can report that the rear suspension is now moving smooth up and down. Remains to be seen if it holds up, but I have a good feeling.
