Citroen C5 MK II 2006 1.6 HDi Suspension Issue

Unread post by leoncx »

Hi All,
Rather than just letting the scrapman take it, I thought I'd offer this here for spares.
It will need trailering as has sat during covid.
Needs a new battery.
It's an 06 vtx+ hatch manual with a towbar.
High miles.
Has the built in sat nav/phone/with multimedia aux connectors/CD changer.
Prior to being stood, it had a new dmf and clutch kit fitted (approx 200 miles down since) and drove nicely.
It had work done to address the usual injector seal issues.
Inlet was cleaned, injectors removed and new seals fitted plus some new sensors & electro valves.
A flushed dpf can be supplied with it as well. (Not currently fitted)
Think I have spare fuel pipe harness too.
Covid and working from home meant it was never finished and put back into use.
Will need trailering as will need new battery/tyres(1 loses air quickly)/brakes/wiper blades etc. from being stood. Also, currently suspension doesn't rise, it did last year but looks like the LDS level needs topping up as looks to have dropped below the min level so may lift with a battery and LDS top up.
Under bonnet release lever broken but a wire release is in place to allow bonnet to be opened.

Have been offered £250 by scrapmen hence the price but would rather it was used to keep others on the road.
It has to go no later than next weekend 27th.
located in Teesside.

Thanks for reading.

You might want to check the engine bay fuses. Recently my C5 (which is a 2007 model) threw up a 'Suspension Fault' message. It turned out the fuse blades were tarnished, and plugging/unplugging the 40A fuses got the pump working again. Yesterday I did a BSi reset, and while the battery was disconnected I cleaned all of the engine bay fuse blades.

Is there a leak on the system to cause a low level or are you assuming a low. Lds level from peering inside the tank.?
Hi,
I was assuming a low LDS level from peering inside the tank.
Last year it would rise fine with charged battery on unlocking the car, though having sat since, the battery is pretty shot even when charged. (Goes pretty quickly to economy mode) The suspension has dropped being stood with a dead battery. There isn't any suspension warning on the display. The buttons don't currently do anything. The pump isn't making its usual noise on unlocking (there is a buzz from that side of the bay but may be the anti dieseling throttle area. I did check the 40A fuse but haven't gone through them all and cleaned them.
I haven't tried a BSI reset yet. I can try putting the battery on charge and a BSI reset some time this week.

If the battery is really low the suspension pump won't kick in till the engine is actually running.
