Quick request for advice on a previous mentioned issue.
Basically the front suspension stands at the right height and maintains the height fine however, the raised intermediate height and maximum height donn't work properly. Raising to intermediate shows the message 'closing in process' it raises but the front continues right up to maximum and the message informing it reaches intermediate doesn't show. The pump is heard working constantly. Its a if it doesn't get the feedback from the height sensor that it has reached the raised height.
It might be some kind of miscalibration but don't know this.
There are no faults recorded in the Lexia scan.
I feel the suspension needs some kind of reset and I wonder: A. Who can actually do this work?
B. Do the Citroen dealers know how to do this?
I'm asking this because X7s are so few that I doubt they get much practice with the unique systems.
I looked at the calibration steps Marc linked to my original query but that seems to be about adjusting the normal car height. The normal height works fine - it's only the raised positions that are wrong. I feel that's caused by another reason.

Is there a UK specialist who knows the C5 properly?

Re: Advice on C5X7 suspension fault
Graeme, it sounds very much like one or more of the height correctors are the issue. These can wear not only mechanically from rust, but internally when the potentiometer tracks can become worn. If the data sent to the suspension ECU is incorrect when the system is raised to intermediate of maximum heights (by reporting the height is lower than expected), then the suspension ECU will be constantly trying to maintain what it thinks should be the correct height. It will constantly be operating the pump to try and raise the height, but the strut is unable to travel any further.
What you first need to do is ascertain via Diagbox what the actual suspension height values are, against the reference values at each setting and write these down. However they only use the normal height setting for measurement and calculation purposes.
If the height correctors have actually been removed from the ARB at the rear or removed from the mounting point at the front, it is possible they have not been put back exactly in the correct location. Normally the sensors can be changed without removing the whole thing.
If the height correctors have been replaced, the measurement procedure should be undertaken and any fine adjustments made via diagbox to ensure that the values are within the reference settings.
If all this has been done correctly, it would need further diagnostics to see whether the fault may be in the BHI or the integrated ECU.
Of course, make sure the LDS tank has the correct amount of fluid in, which should be between the 'A' & 'B' marks and checked with the vehicle on the lowest suspension setting.
As for the dealers, they will ahve the correct measuring equipment (as the procedure is very similar to all PSA vehicles for checking suspension heights), with the additional parts for the X7 Hydractive adjustment of course. They will have access to the same procedure and equipment to do this, as well as even ground and a pit to undertake the operation in ideal conditions.

Thanks Marc, I might just read with lexia first and if it's not fully capable I'll see about booking it in to the dealer
