Cornwall is home to The Eden Project. It was also where Daphne du Maurier set a lot of her novels, including "Jamaica Inn".

Cornwall was our connection to the world. In a bizarre conincidence, its importance was featured on Radio 4 yesterday lunchtime....

PK Porthcurno - Museum of Global Communications

"......Today he travels to the western tip of Cornwall to discover why the Museum of Global communications in Porthcurno is far more than just a local curiosity telling the story of a colourful past. He learns about deep sea cabling and a hidden network that helped forge the modern world of mass communication, and which is best understood in the form of a cable hut where cables from across the British Empire once came ashore."

15 minutes long.

Watched an interesting documentary the other day on channel 4 about Cornwall's red River, POTD entry and link here

https://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/ ... 27#p711327

It flows out into St Ives bay at Godrevy , today the pictures of the red river are not so red as it used to be.

Cornwall's mining activity is being revived, but not so much with picks and shovels and stone crushing but via boreholes and brine to seek "white oil" from the granite.

Cornwall provides one of the highlights on my South Coast Saunter which is possibly going to come to life this summer.
The place to sit and watch the ocean is Rock
The attachment discover-banner-1-v1587991275856.jpg is no longer available
And the reason to visit Rock you ask?

It is the home of my favourite brewery:

Cornwall Quiz
Rivers
Clues not exactly cryptic but should lead you in a direction where the answers pop out
1 One of my favourite bands from the 1970's who at the Reading Rock Festival in 1976 were commented on by John Peel as "I couldn't be bothered with the cosmic meanderings of xxxxx." After them on the bill was Rory Gallagher!

2 Some may pronounce incorrectly or correctly the hottest curry usually found Uk Indian takeaway menus with this River's name.

3 Flows under Royal Albert

4 Frenchman's Creek

5 Golitha Falls
