Thinking of giving the injectors a good clean. Seen different methods including removal, directly spraying in the fuel line, adding to the tank etc.
Adding to the fuel tank is probably ok for maintenance but not sure if it can declog. Any suggestions?

Re: Cleaning injectors
If none of your injectors are leaking then I would avoid removing them if I were you. A fair chance of not getting a good seal on one of them when you replace them and giving yourself more trouble. I have used both the Redex and STP additive cleaners in the past and both worked fine for me. Certainly worth the few pounds to try before getting more involved!

Re: Cleaning injectors
Been adding Redex with every tank but don't think that is enough to declog an injector. I am not going to remove the injectors as last thing I want is more trouble!

Re: Cleaning injectors
If I remember correctly when I used the STP it had to be added to half a tank and then drive 40 miles for the cleaning process to take place. If you have diluted it too much it won't work!!
This is what I used last time:

Re: Cleaning injectors
I used Redex, followed the instructions then after a number of doses read that it was useless for HDi applications, made for Indirect injection.
Still have a load left.
It seems that posh diesel is a better option but not one I embraced.
Had the injectors removed, tested, cleaned and one refurbished. Made an appreciable difference, around a hundred quid.

Re: Cleaning injectors
That's useful to know. Didn't think Redex made a difference and this was confirmed by a failed emissions test
. The stuff the garage put in the tank though made a difference so was thinking of using the same additive but with an empty tank.
