I need to replace the 6 speed ML6C gearbox in my 2014 Dispatch van. It is fitted with the 20MB30 version of the gearbox but so far I can't find a direct match of it. In fact only one breaker had anything close out of a 2008 van but with a different code.
I have been told that if I fit a box with a different code & likely different ratios the system will throw out an error code because the abs sensor isn't getting the expected speed in relation the gearbox sensor & engine speed.
Is this true or will any mk 2 dispatch 6 speed box work?

That is correct. There are different versions of the ML6 box fitted to different engine variants - each with different gear ratios.
The ESP ECU has to be configured for:

Thanks for your reply.
Can the ESP ECU be reconfigured for a different gearbox using Diagbox?

The ECU is configurable for the options fitted - whether it has the correct gearbox you are trying to fit or whether the different gearbox ratios will cause other issues I can't say. It's always better to replace like for like.

Thanks for your reply.
Over here 2l hdi's are not as common as the 1.6 so there are slim pickings in the breakers for 2l specific parts. I'll keep searching for the correct box but I may have to fit a different one if a 20MB30 cannot be found.
The only bonus is that after a recent remap the van now has so much torque that it will pull away in 2nd gear, meaning that I don't need to use the broken 1st gear!
