Citroen C8 Gear Selector cables

Hi all,

I have a C8, and the Gear Selector cable has snapped. The Citroen Part number is 2444Y0, but Citroen do not make them anymore, neither do Peugeot or Fiat for the similar models. Ebay do not have any and neither do any of the 40 Scrapyards I have contacted.
Do any of you nice people have any guidance or advice on where to get one?

Sorry just to add it is a 2005, 2.0 SX HDI, RHD, 5 speed manual. The VIN is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff].

Unfortunately I've checked under classic parts and multibrand parts and I can't locate this part now.

You could try www.breakerlink.com or www.1stchoice.co.uk I often get parts from them if I don't need brand new.

I have a Peugeot 807 and my gear selector cable has also snapped and its the same part number as yours, I'm finding it extremely difficult to sorce one old or new, have you had any luck?

I used this forum to try to find a solution to the same problem. I thought I should post what I have found. The part number 2444Y0 / 1495770080 seemed impossible to get hold of new, even my Peugeot dealership could not get one and there where no second hand ones about. But I found an alterative which I can confirm works as I have just fitted it today and now back on the road. It is a MAXGEAR 32-0652. The CITROËN part number is 2444X8. My car is a Peugeot 807 2006 Diesel MPV 2.0 HDi FWD -- EB_ 1997cc 80KW 109HP RHW (DW10ATED4). EBay does not find it compatible but it works. You do not get the thin reverse selection cable that runs in the middle but this is easy to transfer over from your old part.
