DPF filter liquid low

Unread post by Krasimir »

Hi there
I see that previous this problem was discussed but need some help. My Peugeot 207 needs DPF filter liquid to be topped up. Unfortunately more garbage don’t do that and others ask too much money. For this reason l think do this myself and only find someone to reset system but need some help. Can anyone tell me what kind of liquid I need and is there tank or bag?

You just get the right pouch for your car & it has the right fluid in it.
There are plenty on ebay less than half the dealer price.
The fluid in the pouch is powerflex.

Please don't ask the same on multiple threads as it causes duplication of answers. Your other posts have been deleted as they have been answered here.

I have another problem. I changed pouch and go to garage to tell computer that it changed. They do that but dashboard still show “ DPF filter liquid too low “. Any idea how to fix that?

If they have done the job correctly and (and they may have to prime the fuel system too) the light will go off immediately the diagnostic tool has completed the operation. Otherwise they haven't done it correctly or you may have a faulty additive pump.

A proper diagnostic with Diagbox may be needed to check for fault codes.

Is it the same for all vehicles insofar as it's a two stage process to inform the car that Eolys has been refilled? Basically that the fluid has been filled and then by how much? Might they not have done the second part?

No it’s not the same procedure for all cars Paul.

Some cars you have to reset the additive counter to 0, this is in most cases and not the amount of fluid added.

Some vehicles specify that the additive has to be reset and also the fuel system needs to be primed, but on some vehicles just the additive counter needs to be reset.

Thank all. Mechanic tell computer that pouch is changed but mistake still appears. After he tell that pump is changed too but dashboard still shows it. Now I’ll tell him primed fuel system and if nothing happens I need change pump . Am I right?

I wouldn't change everything without a proper diagnosis using a dealer-level tool. It may save you money int he long run to get Citroen to do it for you.
