C4 Picasso Mk2 - Pollen Filter

Unread post by jac »

Sorry, bit of a noddy question today...

I've just watched a few videos on youtube, but sometimes its a bit difficult to see what they're doing. Is there a service type set of instructions available for fitting the pollen filter?

VIN: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Thanks!

Marc, that's for LHD I think... It's a bit more tricky on RHD IIRC, you have to remove the trim piece on the end of the dash for instance.

Mind you still easier than a MK1 manual...🤨

These should be symmetrical operations and I've not found any variation for LHD Richard. They don't make separate evaporator units for LHD / RHD from what I can see, which would make the operation the same. But I can't tell which side this is from looking at the diagrams alone (left or right), so the OP will just have to check. In my experience the pollen filters mostly appear on the left (UK passenger side).

Looks the same as on our 308. It was a couple of years ago but I don't remember there being any great problem replacing the two filters. IIRC there's a cover over the hole where the two filters go but that's all. Just be aware of the arrows that might be printed on the edge of the filters. One will point forward to the front of the car, the other might point in the opposite direction to show the direction of airflow.
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

It seems to be a bit of a different layout on the drivers side of a RHD, using this video as a reference:

and this one shows removing different panels:

@Jac:

Be aware the first video is for a MK I Picasso not a B78.

Ok, so on this model the Pollen filters are on the right hand side. The confusion is because if you look at the parts diagram in my guide, you can see that they have shown the filter on the right of the diagram for reasons of room on the picture, but the flap is actually on the left side, so UK driver's side.

The guide is showing a left hand drive operation where it shows the glovebox on the right, which you won't see. Ignore that and just remove the driver's side trim and the rest of the detail should be the same for access and removal.
