Citroen relay 2.2 2014 DPF & limp mode problems

Unread post by dean gartan »

Hi everyone
im new here ,im having reoccurring problems with my van, i just like to add some back ground info 1st about the van
i bought it new in 2014 ,done 160.000 miles all ok , never a problem , needed EGR valve , all changed all ok
2 years later 200.000 miles DPF cleaning problem , exhaust off filters cleaned , sensors changed , high pressure ,injector valve atomiser ,all good runnning ok ,DPF was regenerated all ok
had a water leak in heater hose engine got hot ,suspect head gasket failure ,so engine out & now fitted a Recondition long engine at great expense
so
New pistons & ring
new main & big end ,small end
head skimmed ,rebuilt as new ,new head gasket
4 new glow plugs
4 new injectors
New oil pump ,timimng chain , sump filter ,air diesel oil ,thermostat ,water pipes
basically everything new
New clutch 3 piece ,bearing , changed gearbox oil , fitted new drie shaft seals
on the DPF fitted NEW OE fuel vapour sensor
NEW high pressure sensor
New turbo boost sensor
New Fly wheel sensor
New EGR cooler ,
New EGR Valve
basicly every has been changed except the Turbo ,it was checked over & given a clean bill of health
1st problem
coding the injectors ,the computer wound not except the codes ( however the engine seems to be running ok ?? ive told the ECU has a learning mode & has excepted the replacements ok ?? i would say it sounds ok & drove ok ,no smoke no errors on PC ,but I'm am concerned about this
2 nd problem & this is the DPF cleaning light comes on after 4 miles ,VAN goes into limp mode ,it says KEEP the vechicle moving ??
took it back , run the tests on PC , driving values not met error code P1490 & P1447 ,this is a new code now thats just apeared ?
checked the live data for soot & particle they are at Zero
clear all the error codes ,Van is out of limp mode all ok ,after 4/5 miles the same problem ,same error codes

Please can some help i dont understand how this keeps happening ,whats going wrong ??
ive spent £8000 on the engine & sensors related to it ,i dont mund if it was fixed & running :( now on my van ,ive owned it from new its always been very reliable before

Welcome to the forum, how did you get the fault codes ?
PSA vehicles have codes which some readers don’t see
Could the DPF be blocked or badly sooted up even after cleaning.
Worth checking before spending anymore money

Ok thanks ,going to look today , there is a slight blow on the exhaust at that join so it needs looking at
Could the blow mean lack of pressure causing the sensor to register the problem ?
