Steering wheel controls for S1 1998 xanita

Hi!

I have swapped the original philips 22rc629/80 radio (which i cannot find it in any xantia on the internet). And i wondered if there is any way i can use the steering wheel controls with my new Kenwood KDC-BT950DAB. Is that possible? I have tried a connec ts2 adapter but that did not work as i dont have the upper part of this connector in the harness to the car.

The radio did not use the connector so it cant be essential for the steering wheel buttons to work.

So i dont see why it should not work as the steering wheel buttons does not use any of those. I guess the other radios that could come with the car did not have the same pinouts? Can i use a universal adapter?

Can you post the VIN of your car so that we can check what it was originally fitted with. Production of the S1 Xantia finished in 1997 for the berline (maybe a few months later for the break), but I thought that all S1 Xantia had a Blaupunkt head unit. Is the steering wheel of the S1 or S2 design?

I probably should have bought the adapter for blaupunkt then if that is the radio that is supposed to be there. I pretty sure that this radio was fitted from the factory, but this might be weird with norwegian models.
