2018 DS3 App & CarPlay Issues.

Hi Everyone,

I’ve just got myself a late 2018 DS3 and so far I absolutely love it! I was wondering if anyone had had any issues with CarPlay at all ?

The system works with Bluetooth but the CarPlay app says to plug in a CarPlay device which my iPhone 13 is

Also the MyDS app isn’t giving any stats when I have allowed it to access the services when connected either.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are using a USB cable? CarPlay needs a cable connection.

Yup but it’s not an Apple Original, could this be why?

Very likely - they always recommend an original cable or at least an MFi (Certified Made for iPhone/iPod/iPad) cable. These usually cost a little bit more, but it's your guarantee that the cable isn't going to toast your car or your phone.

I've just sent another type of USB cable back (as I have been adding an additional USB Port from the back of the Head Unit) as when I connected it up, I immediately got a 'USB over-voltage warning'. So that's winging its way back to China!. I have another on order that I already tested which works.

He already has CarPlay capability, so not really necessary to pay another 100 Euros, when all he probably needs is a proper Lightning cable.

true, but if you dont wanna use cable all the time you enter the vehicle (really annoying) then carlink good solution
