Its a nice bright moon tonight with a trailing Venus I presume.

Bonus points for anyone who can be bothered to take a moonshot and post it up today January 6th 2022 oops! 7th January 2022 :)

One entry would be a success...

Our house front windows look out WNW and the back windows ESE. Unfortunately being a semi we only have one window on the side which looks NNE so I simply cannot see the moon currently at 181 degrees with an elevation of 30 degrees above the horizon and its too damn cold to go outside!! :-D

Nothing visible in the sky tonight, as usual.
We did have one clear night a few days ago and I forgot to look, so used to not being able to see anything.

Tonight the POTD thread will pass 150,000 views 10 to go before this. Nice if the moon challenge new content pushes it past the landmark.

Is that Betelgeuse in the lower part of the picture?

I have been on an enforced arctic perambulation (took the car back to my son's place) and there was the moon and even a few stars. No camera though.

Need a picture of the day

This one will have to do... semi appropriate, today the gorse by the side of the road was well and truly in yellow bloom.
