Where can I find paint?

Unread post by white exec »

Would anyone know where I could order an aerosol can of re-touch paint:
Citroen colour ECZ, Sable Phenicien ?

Holts Dupli Colour list it (150g can, their code DSH61), but cannot locate a stockist.
Would prefer not to order from UK (EU preferred), as customs charges are now prohibitive.

Surely customs charges on such a small item can't be more than a few pence/cents.

Hi Chris, not sure what the job is, but I have used these people for repair kits and am well-pleased with the results. Mine was delivered by DHL.

Colorndrive supply various sized kits for repairs -

They have three packages from 25 to 100 ml paint sizes, along with all the towels , blending solution and the rest of it.

You can use an Amazon account or PayPal and they ship free worldwide....

I mentioned them on my blog a short while back:

Thanks, Marc. Will give them a go.
Have one or two small scuffs, and some (new, black) reversing sensors which should go body-colour.
Delivery/payment options look helpful.

Gibbo,
Oh that they were! Items coming here from UK (with notable exception of Amazon) can attract anything up to €30 import/VAT/customs charge, often doubling the cost of the item itself. Many UK exporters have just given up sending small consignments, as the paperwork can be much the same as a huge shipment.
Ordering from Spain/France/German (or even US) is simpler and cheaper.

I appreciate your import issues Chris but I thought it worth posting this link as a more general answer to your thread title for the benefit of other readers! :-D
I get all my aerosol touch up paints from this company since getting a perfect match for my silver C5. I have since ordered for the red C5, the MX3, a Kia, a Vauxhall, a Suzuki and a Ford and all have been excellent matches so I thoroughly recommend them to the house! :)

Thanks Mick, Jaf.
Jaf - pintarmicoche lists the colour, 400ml + 400ml of lacquer, for €29, so will order some. :)
Mucho gracias, amigos

:rofl2: From June or July the rules changed. Not entirely due to Brexit but sort of. Anything being imported to the EU incurs handling charges. This isn't VAT or import taxes, it's 'handling charges'. Public services like La Poste can't charge more than item's worth, independent carriers can charge what they like.
For example, my mother in law sent my son a big bag of maltesers, 6 packs of salt and vinegar crisps and a science magazine. She had to state the cost of the goods, about £9. It turned up here, when the postlady scanned it it showed a fee to be paid of 9€, 'frais douanes'.
I'm a member of the Z1OC (old air cooled Kwaks) and it's been a talking issue on there because a lot of 2nd hand parts come from Germany, they won't send to the UK anymore due to the paperwork and fees they have to pass on. Due to this issue I've recently bought a 1973 front wheel rim in France for a club member and had a bank of carbs sent to my house, they both went back in the boot of a mates car and were reposted once they were in the UK.
We had to be careful, to the point no receipts were evident and no addresses were on the untaped packages. He still got questioned in the UK and told them they were his own and was renovating them whilst at his French home. This has also started with goods coming from China, the only difference being is that they lie on the official receipt and under value the goods, then send the real receipt via email (this has been going on for ages though).

Notice the BX is still top the list but sadly gone
