Hi,
I've got a 2006 Fiat Scudo (Peugeot Expert & Citroen Dispatch rebadge) that is suffering with no power, running extremely rough and often struggling to idle. The mechanic that has been looking at it thinks it might be the electronic advance in the injection pump. Current pump is a Delphi (Lucas) DWLP12.
Rather than replacing it with a similar pump, I was wondering whether it was possible to upgrade to the Bosch pump (turbo or non turbo) from an XUD9 engine? I know the firing order is different so you would need to take the Bosch injector lines with it and also shift the studs round on the mounting cradle to get the timing correct. Other than those two things, is there anything else that would need doing or make the conversion not possible? I.e. any electrical connections to worry about, can the original injectors remain etc?
Hope someone can provide advice, thanks

Re: Upgrading DW8/b to Bosch XUD9 pump
Sounds like a whole lot of avoidable hassle.
How do you plan on timing the pump? On the DW8 the pegging hole is on the pump itself whereas on the XUD’s the timing holes are on the pulley & pump bracket.
If you believe there is a problem with the advance the advance electrovalve can be replaced on the DW8 pump with it still in situ & is less than half an hours work. The part is extortionate new from Citroen though.

Re: Upgrading DW8/b to Bosch XUD9 pump
I hadn't thought about timing the pump, would it not be via the pulley and pump bracket as normal? And if the DW8 pump bracket doesn't have the mark, could it not be added or swapped from the XUD one as reference?
The advance electrovalve/solenoid - I guess it could well be this, is there a way to test it/diagnose it before buying a new part?
