3db is a doubling of sound energy. 10db is a doubling of volume. Over the years I have tested Vehicle Exhaust Noise at everything from105db down to 67db. My Fiat 500F "failed" the noise test on a Night Navigational Rally. It had a bog standard Fiat exhaust fitted to a bog standard 500cc engine with a bog standard carb and air filter but at it's test rpm just about every bit of tinware vibrated and the car was noisy inside and out. I was allowed to compete because the car was as the Manufacturer designed and supplied new. I remember many occasions around the country turning up at scrutineering, panicking that the E marking was on the wrong side, or only 1 throttle return spring was still in place on the MK1 RS2000 but none were so nerve racking as holding the throttle at 5000 rpm while the noise readings were taken. It wasn't the noise test itself that worried me but the prospect of the engine self destructing while free revving at that speed!!Dormouse wrote: 15 Dec 2021, 18:213db is a doubling of sound energy. 10db is a doubling of volume. I think they are Clouded Agaric,
Only just seen this Steve - there was a Recall for the suspension springs breaking and damaging tyres (a bit late now I appreciate) They fitted some cups on the fronts. Details below:myglaren wrote: 10 Dec 2021, 15:15
Broken spring on daughter's C3.
Two buggered tyres, one was new, had to fit it to get home.
